In this episode, we talk all about FAMOUS MORMONS! David quizzes Kwaku on his knowledge of celebrities -- who is and who is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church).
A few of the celebrities we mention are: Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Kaskade, Brendon Urie, Brandon Flowers, and others!! Which are Mormons and which are not?

Brendon Urie’s brother is my one of my teachers and he told us brendon loves it when he hears about Mormon kids who are inspired by his work bc he still has a lot of respect for the church even though he doesn’t believe in it

What does that matter? That is not how one leaves the Republican Party, or Delta Kappa Phi. I do not know of a single organization that determines membership based on social media posts. If one wants to resign the LDS Church, or the Catholic Church, or the Democratic Party, etc. one needs to the the same thing. Write a letter of resignation. It is not a LDS Church thing, but a general society thing. It really is not that difficult.

That is why she is my idol. I'm apart of the lgbtq+ community, but I'm also LDS, and its so bizzare to me why people think I cant have the best of both worlds. Its like loving god and his son while liking someone, no matter what their gender is, for their personality is impossible

Las Vegas was founded by Brigham Young as a station on the road up from the port of Santa Barbara, where many converts landed and then worked their way to Salt Lake City. Brigham founded many little towns along that trail..

Mick Ronson was the lead guitarist for many David Bowie albums such as Aladdinsane, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust etc. and made solo albums being a genius of a musician and therefore titled the 41st best guitarist in the world (by Rolling Stone) who sadly died in 1993 before could be more widely known/famous. Please look up his story and of course, his music! His story is so inspirational with him being such an example as a member of the LDS Church, let alone a human being.

One of the biggest KZfaqrs (over 22 million subscribers) and former NASA scientist Mark Rober is LDS. He’s friends with Jimmy Kimmel (among others) and even hosted his show once this summer.

Not just Donny, but all the Osmonds. There are several brothers whose names I cant remember but I had the Osmonds album when I was like seven. "Hes not heavy, hes my beother" was on it. Then there was Marie, and I think the younger brother Danny had some albums too. Also the little boy who played Jodie in Family Affair, which was a sitcom in the early 70s. Bill Paxton however, is not LDS. Not even FLDS although he did play one on tv. ;-)

Listened to a podcast recently with Wayne Hussey from the 80s goth bands Sisters of Mercy and most famously for the Mission UK . He was raised in the LDS church. Not practicing. Also mentioned that 90's era Siouxsie and the Banshees guitarist, (John Klein?), grew up with him in the same Ward.

If you're going to hold up people who are members of the church for people to see, hold up people who are living the church standards, not people who are not living. Eliza Dushku is a member, but hasn't darkened the door of a LDS church in decades.

Madelyn Burgener I do know Julianne is no longer a member, she has said it before. Don’t know about Derek, but he’s most likely the same since they are both practically the same person.

He was a convert to the church and obviously left it. His conversion was one of convenience to give him more hunting opportunities. By the time he was executed he hadn't been associated with the church for years. He was a true psychopath.
