Are you on the fence about when to retire? What is the top reason you should retire sooner rather than later?
The top reason to retire as soon as you can is - TIME
Time is the ONE thing you can’t get back. Once it’s gone it’s gone.
We know too many people who worked until death. Or retired and died soon thereafter.
There are too many who never get to experience the joy of retirement.
Time is a limited commodity and once it’s gone you cannot get it back.
Do your numbers-know how much you need per month-if you can do it-pull the trigger and retire as soon as you can.
As we’ve talked in past videos-set your goals and work towards them.
You can do it! It just takes planning.

We celebrated being retired. Was never a scary option but a reward after years of working. Still happy and grateful to be retired and being able to choose how we fill our day. Have a wonderful week. 👌🙋‍♀🥝

Great video. I’m 59 years old and on the fence regarding retirement. My wife and I recently paid off our house and saved approximately $1.1M. Further, I’ll collect a small pension of $24k annually, beginning at age 62. The roadblock is healthcare insurance. Just for two people, the premiums are $1,200 per month. With that said, my job is extremely stressful. I know retirement would be beneficial for my physical and mental health but I just can’t pull the trigger. But as you mentioned, our remaining time on earth is unknown and never can be reclaimed.

Have you checked into the marketplace for healthcare? I had to use that for 2 years until I turned 65

The things I wanted to were things that I really shouldn’t do at the age of 60. But I couldn’t do it then cause I was working and raising a family. Now I have to look for age appropriate things to do. Because I’m not young and stupid anymore.

As long as you're debt free, do it! It's easy and fun. If your bored and need structure in your life, work two days a week. It keeps you feeling alive and useful.

I'm 63 and on the fence. My problem is I only saved 180k for retirement, and s.s.would be $2415 a month. No debt in Florida. Should I flip a coin?

That’s a tough question. We know the cost of living in Florida is high. It’s good that you have no debt! Run your expenses. If the numbers say you can then do it but since you’re only 63 you have to figure in healthcare until you’re 65. That might be the decision maker.

Yep. At some point time becomes more precious than money. You are just going to die and leave it someone else to enjoy.

What do people do for health insurance. I'm healthy and never use it ( I go to a NP and pay out of pocket) but I still HAVE to have it. If I quit my job, how do I pay for expensive medical insurance that is forced on us.

I was 63 when I retired. I got on the marketplace and found insurance for two years until I qualified for Medicare. I went with Ambetter insurance. It was mostly equivalent to what I had before retirement. You just have to fill out a bunch of information to see what your premium will be. Mine was very affordable because I am a non smoker and healthy. ~ Terri
