Amanda is her own worst enemy...and as far as her "pro-blackness" she is just trying to overcompensate for not feeling black enough which unfortunately happens to a lot of exoticals. Im willing to bet that her blackness was questioned a lot so she felt the need to take on this persona to prove herself. But i really wish she would take off her cape or at the very least use it to save herself
@niratomas579Ай бұрын
Yes! She overcompensate so much and waves that cape at every chance she gets! I just want to tell her that it’s ok to rest😣

It’s also concerning how she pedestalises Issa Rae and makes space for her BECAUSE she’s dark skinned! I know! I’ve done it my whole life! This is the first time I’ve ever spoken about this but my older sister by one year, is darker brown and I am gold toned. Growing up Because I was afraid of the notion/idea of colorism (having an ethnic background with a heavy bleaching culture) I found myself always shrinking and squinting myself simply to make space and give voice to darker girls who NEVER intended to MAKE SPACE FOR ME. EVER. It also didn’t help that she is extroverted and I’m introverted, but I always found myself trying to give a metaphorical microphone and spotlight to darkskinned girls who would often times SPEAK OVER ME and RIDICULE ME!!! And what for? Those girls never had confidence issues, I did, yet I always would feel sorry for them. For no reason and I wasted precious time and energy doing it. I’m 25 now and I’m only JUST NOW realising how sick that is ! All in the name of being nice because of colorism when these girls even my own sister never intended to give me a turn on the microphone or support the things I had to say. At times when I needed it most. This is what you mean when you burn the cape! Amanda wants to standup for people like Issa in the name of justice, when they wouldn’t even light a match after they leave her out in the cold! Sickening. Thank you angel for this channel and helping us see how we give away our power.
@ExoticalsUnitedАй бұрын
Omg yes ! We are putting ourselves first again! No more guilt for how we were born! And No more capes for people who wouldn’t cape for us !
@belovedheir77Ай бұрын
I was doing that to an extent even to the point of denouncing my light skinned privilege 😳😢. I was a stupid one for that. I was doing this in the divestment spaces and all of that and ended up getting doxxed and kicked out of the divestment discords. Oh well lesson learned.
@Luxelife07Ай бұрын
It’s really unfortunate because Amanda is really beautiful. Just looking at her pictures in the video and I’m like wow I knew she was pretty but didn’t realize this pretty. And it’s because she’s allowing the pro blk thing to overshadow everything else.
@ExoticalsUnitedАй бұрын
Right ! If she’s that passionate about politics and pro blackness she could’ve stayed out of Hollywood and made black documentaries or something like that

I think Amanda has a MA in African American studies. I wish she would find a way to combine her acting skills with her education to make films and documentaries. My impression of Amanda is that she seems to be someone that really wants to be accepted by the blk community and she is pushing too hard. Possibly experiencing LS guilt. That could be why being rejected from attending the party bothers her so much. I hope she sees this video. You have given some great advice. Advice that apparently people around her aren't telling her.
@Astr062925 күн бұрын
I needed this. I’ve been doing a lot of deep diving into my past and how it has shaped me today. Maladaptive behaviors we’ve adopted to survive will keep us stuck and self sabotaging (in Amanda’s case at some point she felt she had to be the sacrificial martyr and warrior to survive or be accepted), I see that with a lot of pretty girls that have inferiority complexes and wasted potential. I’m just now learning how shrinking yourself isn’t worth it. You saying to build your own pedestal is really profound and exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you! ❤

Yeah I’m definitely not nurturing social privilege enough. You’re right the black community says they want to stick together but I haven’t felt much togetherness so it leaves me struggling to figure out how to build my own community. I feel like I’m more of a creative so whether it’s art decorating or writing etc when I’m enjoying something I can really be good at things. I guess I’ve just been hesitant to really pick a craft because I want to do so much. I have several books I’ve been trying to write and have started many hobbies I just like being creative but I’m actively working on improving my social skills. I want to be well connected. My job lets me travel whenever I want so I need to take more advantage of that at least in terms of meeting ppl around the world and having connections.

This is proof on why an Exotical should not cape for a community that wouldnt cape for you. Honestly i havent kept up with Amanda during all of her fiasco with the BC . I found out what was going on with Amanda pro black stance a couple months ago , she should of walked away from the BC when she was loosing gigs like her spot on the show Insecure , The Real , i think she can bounce back from this only if she leaves behind the pro black mindset to the side and focus only on Amanda Seals 💙 🩵
