That merchant Muhammed Cangören born in Afghanistan and deported Afghanistan with his kids to Turkey. He's a legend in Turkey, such good actor. Ben Affleck wanted him only for this shot. He knew Cangoren was a veteran but he apologised to him and wanted to take a testing shot. In Istanbul nobody recognised the crew but Muhammed Cangoren. People were asking for photos etc. Ben Affleck saw this situation and asked Cangoren 'you're a big star here. Can we take a picture too?' :)

I tried to take some pictures of merchants in Morocco and I was given the finger..It was pretty tense too. Thanks god I don't look American. They thought I was from Spain and I went with it. A week after we left they bombed the busiest cafe in a popular plaza.

My experience with the people of Morocco is also pretty awful, and I didn't even take any photos of them. Basically I felt like they see me as a walking wallet. Iranians, on the other hand, are people from the exactly opposite side of the spectrum. So kind, you can barely imagine. Also I've never had problems with taking photos anywhere, and half of the merchants invited me in for tea. I suppose this scene might be a realistic representation of the year 1980 when the country was going through very difficult times, but it's nothing like this nowadays.

People always keep picking at small problems but can't see the elephant in the room. The main problem of Iran is not how the Iranian women could dress, it's its foreign policies which are one of the most ridicolous politics on earth. When the whole state is conservative, the different lifestyle of couple indviduals doesn't change the whole country.
