My interview was just like a chit chat conversation and went smooth even though there were some miscommunication. I was denied on the 25th of November. From my experience, the interview depends on the interviewer. After following Argo visa videos, telling us to avoid short answers and provide details, the VO couldn't allow me to explain anything. It's like he actually needed short answers. Imagine when I tried to go in detail, he stopped me and said that I should take time. Especially regarding my funding sources. I actually had two funding sources (personal funds and loan ), as soon as I talked about my personal funds, he couldn't allow me to talk about the loan. All I heard was "Leroy, you have a great application, sorry I can't approve you now? I hold a BSc degree in geology and was intending to pursue a master's in geological engineering at Michigan technological university. I'm searching for a full or partial scholarship.

Why you choose the particular university if ask by visa interview. Maybe this will be the right ans there was a list of universities in the particular city from where i have to pick one. As per my profile i reviewed the eligibility criteria compare to my profile which meet and i applied in this university. My education, my experience, age CGP meets the eligibility criteria.. simple

If the university I'm trying for has an MOU with my college in India, (which is one of the reasons I am applying in that uni) For an F-1 visa interview, will it work in my favor if I mention the MOU as a reason for joining that university? Yes, you have to answer questions accordingly. at least they should ask questions, but they didn't ask me any questions nor saw my documents.

Thank you so very much Argo team. It was my first attempt and I got the F1 visa. I got approved this last Tuesday 30 May 2023. I went with no Travel History. My passport was with no any visa. I didn't smile even one time. I didn't see anything funny. I was so serious I couldn't fake a smile but was just focused with eyes contact to the consuler officer while responding to the questions. I have strong ties back home. That's why I got my visa approved. I am employed for 6 years now in the same company. I am a Logistics Manager with a good salary. I will pay my studies by myself and got 25% of scholarship from the university. I am Married. I have no siblings or parents in the US.
