the fact that Ariana said that she won’t perform “i wish i hated you” live is absolutely the best decision she has ever made. i don’t blame her because when i was listening to this song, this song really broke my entire heart into millions of pieces. i can definitely hear all the pain & hurt in her voice when her voice cracked. i’m so very happy & glad she’s in such an better, happy, healthy & glowing place. she really deserves everything & more. i love you Ariana ! i gonna continue to love you & support you all day, everyday, forever & always !

@@BLINKIEEEEEE to kinda further explain, the tone in her voice when she made that statement was playful, but you could tell there was a since of sarcasm with it, and in my opinion, it just seems based on her body language and how she delivered said statement that it had a sense of playfulness but being okay of the decisions she made within this time period of her life. That’s what I was trying to emphasize, I apologize if I left too much to interrupt.🙏🏼

@@BLINKIEEEEEE more like she knows that when she releases an album thats directly about the things that people are talking about / sensationalizing, it invites discourse and people have a right to ask her about it. I think she is really growing into a more intentional celebrity with what she chooses to share + her responsibility to share. Its great to see her put down some boundaries / be protective of the ones she loves and herself while still recognizing that that if she is to be as "Ariana grande" - if she wants to keep doing music and being creative + being rich and privileged and successful this is the speculation and invasion of privacy is the cost and she's made peace with that.

this song SPEAKS to me. i went through this exact same mindset. i experienced a fairly amicable breakup, and i couldn't move on because there was nothing to hate. i couldn't let a good thing go, and i always tried to paint him as some sort of villain just to make myself feel better about losing a good thing. he never did anything wrong, but making him evil made it hurt less until it didn't. it was only when i realized that not all good things are good for me that i finally was at peace, and could move on without trying to hate him

I’m glad she said this. Her fans have been bashing Dalton, and it seems like there wasn’t some big horrible situation. They probably just weren’t as compatible as they initially thought. Just because divorce happens it doesn’t mean someone has to be the ‘bad guy’ in the situation.

Her decision makes sense. Because I felt so happy and relief after experiencing we cant be friends. It’s like that song was the therapy I needed to move on from my past heartbreak. But then I listen to I wish I hated you, everything feels like it went back to 0. So I understand her pain.

This is an amazing song, so important, and so recognizable of my own breakup. The complexity of emotions and the combined vulnerability and healing aspects of the sentiment ‘I wish I hated you’ is so essential. I understand that it is a place where you just cannot physically go to in a live setting. But of course it is also sad since I am very curious and would be hyped if she did sing it live. Maybe in the future, and otherwise it stays the beauty and essential message it already is.

Ariana has really become a trained politician. She dances around the truth behind this music but she was very honest on her previous work & spoke so openly. As someone who has escaped an abusive relationship, it is not easier just because he's a monster. It may actually be harder because of the trauma bond. Listening to this song made me feel so silly and shameful because the only thing he could have done that is "worse" than anything he already has done is to take my Iife. But I still don't think I actually hate him and I do feel guilty when saying I wish I did. 💜
