Watch Full Interview: • Aries Spears on Diddy ...
Part 3: • Aries Spears on Draymo...
Part 1: • Aries Spears on Why Mi...
--------
Comedian Aries Spears passionately defended basketball legend Michael Jordan against recent criticisms from fans saying he was "trash." Many younger fans have claimed that Jordan wouldn't be at the same level in today's competition, but Spears pointed out that making mistakes on the court is part of every era's basketball history. He also argued that longevity and natural skill sets, which many contemporary basketball players possess, does not necessarily equate to surpassing Jordan. Spears said polls among NBA players and casual fans overwhelmingly support Jordan as the greatest of all time, with only two athletes - Jordan and Muhammad Ali - being globally recognized and having a significant impact on their sports. Despite the high profile of players like LeBron James, Spears firmly believes that Jordan’s contribution to the sport cannot be undermined. Notably, he criticized the argument that the '90s competition was weak, reminding fans of legends like David Robinson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Reggie Miller who were Jordan’s contemporaries.

If you a real sneaker head you would know Nike had invested everything in Bo Jackson but he got injured so guess who was the goat in basketball MJ. Basketball evolves with time and the game changes. So you have to adapt who knows who will ever be the goat because of the 3 point line and the 24 second clock. And all the guys he named are in the hof . And like Aries said the new era had Shaqtin A Fool with clips of them scoring on the wrong basket, airballing freethrows, flopping way too hard, passing it to the wrong guy, etc. A crossover, stepbacks, and hesi moves won’t change the fact that guys lack fundamentals and refs won’t call it because the NBA is selling offense.

One of MJs most iconic in-game dunks, arguably his best ever, is when he went LEFT baseline and dunking on Ewing's head after avoiding a Knicks double team trap that expected him to go right. Also, one of MJs best game winning shots, arguably his best ever, is catching an inbounds pass and going LEFT, hitting the game winner over Ehlo and the Cavs.

@@younglove3362 That's weird, because watching Jordan's full games impressed me more. Jordan played off ball a lot, unlike a lot of superstars today who can't play without the ball. Watching basketball in the 2010's and the 2020's, it caught me by surprise how much Jordan moved off ball. Jordan is not a ball hog nor was he selfish like people claim he is. He played team ball more often than not, which again, a public narrative that people have against him that is not true. You know what's the truth? Jordan had a left hand, a very good one too. Yeah. Jordan remains the one player in history that the more you look into his career, the better he is.

I love Hao they have 90's rules yet touching Jordan is a foul. I love how ratings went down when Jordan retired resulting in them never giving lead way to one particular player ever again because of delusional fanboys like you. I love how someone with 6 rings is the goat when there's a player with 8 in a row and 3 more afterwards. I love how a player has 6brings and 6 mvps and is disregarded. I love how people don't even know who Jordan's team mates are and crap on Pippin when he facilitated the team way better. Do not get me started. According to your logic you can't compare anyone before Jordan's Era, including Magic and Larry Bird, who saved the league so spare me. P.S. I have watched him struggled and that's why he's over rated so stop ✋️ making yourself look stupid. Jordan even said he's not the goat. You're arguments are irrational and you'll fail trying to look retro in front of me because I know my history. And I haven't even gotten started yet. Quit or I'll expose you to more Jordan flaws and hurt your feelings even more. Believe me, there's plenty to nitpick from.

Steph Curry (who snatched three rings away from LeBroom and matches him in total rings) has made a bigger impact on the game as a whole than LeBroom Queen Lames. Steph is the reason why LeBroom shoots more deep 3s now too not just of course the entire NBA.

Is the nature of young people to not appreciate what has come before them. And even when I was young, in America it is a problem that we don't put a real value or emphasis on history. I think in this sense, you can consider the meaning of the word history absolutely equal to the word identity. And since we have no sense of it, in America and refused to development in America, almost all young people feel like they have to recreate the wheel and are doing it better than what it's ever been done before. My mom always said to me that there is nothing new Under the sun. And as I've gotten older I come to appreciate that more and more and more, but in the last 5 to 10 years or so, I have come to appreciate the last part of that message that eluded me for a long time. It's about respect for the people who have come before you. Understanding understanding the fundamentally you are not better than the other people who have existed in different times and in history just because you were born at the time when you were born. In America we try to give so much credit or sense of identity based on things that we don't choose. The year or era you were born into. Are you a man ,are you a woman ,are you gay, are you straight ,are you sis are you black or are you white are you Hispanic are you Etc. There is an inherent stubbornness and defensiveness that comes with this flawed way of thinking. In people are not really willing to listen to each other, or respect the fact that somebody else made a meaningful contribution and you were not a part of it. We ought to judge people and develop our own sense of identity and also our sense of the identity of who other people are or the Merit that they possessed or what kind of person that they are or are they a good person on the things that they do. On the things that they choose. I think that we would all be happier and lead more healthy and productive lives with people that we really respect and love and can really relate to. In 2024 we battle all kinds of prejudices, we fight against racism sexism, anti lgbtq attitudes , what's the only ism that is widely accepted and never challenged and never battled against. Ageism . Young people's failure to respect the people who have come before them
