In this video I discuss Arken Optics new Sh-4J in comparison to the standard SH-4. The J model now comes with Japanese ELD Glass verses standard HD glass. I outline weight, length differences as well as other external differences. Future footage to come at the range. I direct viewers to Rex page at this time for a comprehensive comparison of the glass.

The J model does very well for me big game hunting. There was times I could not see my feeder at 100 yds. away a dusk, but I could see it clearly with this Arken J6 at even 10 power. I will be getting another for my other rifle.

I ordered the J model, its my first real quality scope, using it on a Savage Mark ii. Currently have a Simmons 4x32.

It is a great review I own several Arken scopes they are great scopes, but can you make a video comparing the glass quality between those scopes.

Because it's just a different batch of glass that cost pennies more, otherwise there is no difference.

I like my J model better because I was able to get one without the Christmas tree reticle. I think the glass on the J might be slightly better as well. That is not to say I like my 3 other SH4s any less. Arken says they are going to be updating prices in the near future so I plan to get another J before that happens.

I ordered the EP5 November 23rd just curious to know how long it takes to ship it says still processing.

@@RugerGundog still no, customer support messaged me “we have had a bit of a run on the EP5's and we ran out of stock and have more enroute to our order fulfillment center, we expect for those to arrive shortly, will ship as soon as possible. Thanks for your business and support.” They sent that yesterday so I’m hoping this week it’ll be delivered

I owned four different SH 4 models. Sold them. Bought two EP5’s and one SH 4J. The glass is slightly better on the SH4J than the SH4 model. You really don’t notice it at first. But if you take it to the range. On certain days they seam the same. Other days the SH4 is not so great.

Grey. Just didn’t work as well in cloudy days. If weather was perfect not any noticeable difference.

The J model has 2 different reticles, such as VHR/VPR and the magnification is greater. The standard one you can only get it in VPR and magnification is smaller. That could make someone go to the J model over standard. This is what I’m debating which one would be best for my shooting

The non J is being phased out. This is why higher mag one is no longer available.

Love my Gen II. Gotta be a real nitpicker to notice. The super HD glass is sposed to be best Chinese glass. Japanese glass little better quality. ED prime glass, top notch. Love my Arken, But south Korean made Bushnell forge scopes are hands down badass. I'm Arken n Bushnell herein. Great scopes. More money for better ammo...

I have a few J models but am not convinced the glass really is any better. I suppose if i get them out in some less than perfect conditions maybe i will be able to tell.

I wish it was only a $60 difference. It's a $150 dollar difference today. Still nice scopes either way.

Well....at 150nthe gap wider the sh4 is even better buy. Get while you can. I believe non J is being discontinued.

Just emailed Arken to have a scope warranted because it won’t track left to right and they want pictures and videos that is the worst company service ever. Save your money and go for something better! I now own a very expensive paper weight. Some of us are not computer savvy

@@RugerGundog no more to it at all ! Why should someone have to send pictures of it not working properly? Why should I waste more bullets? It was a present for my son. I will eat I guess but if I can save someone else I will try
