Warning! We did not enjoy the scenario (story wise, great, but as a thing to get to play it was miserable) and there's complaining! No, the fact that the locations are face up at the start of the scenario wouldn't have changed that!

I think the way to do it, was Zoey to stay away and have the enemies go to her and knock her unconscious (engage whichever aloof enemies she needed to get that result), while Alessandra went to the Abyss and was there to spend the 4 clues at end of the round. Easy victory!

We were thinking about that but all surviving investigators need to be at the Abyss to win sadly, wouldn’t the enemies just teleport to the Abyss as soon as she’s dead?

@@slickerdrips yeah I mean same turn, so Zoey takes them, she dies in enemy activation from a couple, the rest are aloof to her. You control enemy order. Then you just soak the 1 boss and at end of the round hand in the 4 clues.

Ah right yeah cause the hunters all move at the same time. We were 4 hours in including the prelude in our defence 😆 I’m happy with the miserable loss though, sums up how we felt about this scenario 😀

Thanks for the video. I too played this recently and really didn't like it. Good on you for persevering when you weren't enjoying it. I think the designers out so many things into this scenario that detracted from core Arkham: having an investigator and deck of cards you can use to find clues, subdue enemies and survive the mythos phase. The encounter deck that stole cards and your investigator was a terrible experience. It was incredibly fiddly. It took my investigator - core part of my deck. It took some important cards. This is probably my most disliked final scenario in all of Arkham.

It's hard enough finding your cards sometimes without the game stealing 5 :D from a story perspective and maybe even from watching it I think they did a great job, but as a player trying to enjoy the story through playing a game it was miserable

Felt like you got severely punished for not knowing the optimal route for the campaign which was sad to see as until now I thought the campaign was really quite good. That final scenario just seems incredibly punishing unless you happened to have made all the ideal choices to get help at the end.

Yeah we followed Dr Marquez at every point too, I’m not saying we should get a perfect ending from that but it seems from everywhere else we got punished for doing what the game was asking us to do
