left ctrl + right click - TGP left ctrl + T - lock Macers - Go into TGP, lock on target, Turn on laser Designator. Go back to cockpit, Hit R to reveal targets, press T to lock on macers, and fire.

Couple notes: don't constantly leave on your laser like shown in the video. Only use it when you need to, otherwise any other aircraft flying's weapons may lock on to your laser by mistake. Second, the AGM-65G shown is not laser guided. It's IR guided, and will lock to hot vehicles.

I'd love to see a helicopter CAS or just flat out helicopter guide from you, this one was great!

The thing that helps me in strafing targets with the main gun is by aiming my pod to the target, once you go back to your cockpit, you will see a small circle on your HUD pointing towards where your pod is looking at, this is why I have a hard time using the SU-25 contrary of the A-10

I'd like to see one about helicopter cas, as it's the one I'm less confident with despite being more competent at actually piloting the things.

A presenter's voice we can hear over the plane noises. Short and to the point information based on a preconceived outline, not random mumbling about this and that. A vocal affect that doesn't sound like a hyper excited Monty Python character. Concepts that seem lost on many other presenters. Nice job.

By default, reveal targets is now set to the same keybind as target lock, which is T. R is next enemy

I would love to see a video about the F4 Phantom on SOG Prairie Fire, me and a friend have been trying to get into CAS/Jets recently but, there's not many comprehensive guides about it and it doesn't have the same luxuries as a modern A-10. so you cant lase targets, or exactly view a targeting computer, there is a targeting 'scope' with calculated points of impact, but since most the bombs and rocket/missiles aren't guided it's up to human accuracy of the rear seat operator, pilots flight skill (keeping the Jet leveled and in a smooth flight path during a run) and knowledge of each weapon to effectively hit targets

If you have a HOTAS flight system, could you do an advanced flying tactics video? While I'm not horrible at flying tips and tricks on gunruns, surveillance and or dogfighting tactical maneuvers would be really helpful

First of all, thank you for making an updated showcase, helped out a lot. Ok, so I'm having problems locking on my GBU-12 rockets, to my laser. I turn on my laser and target a spot after stabilizing with "ctrl+T" (getting the red lazer indicator on the right side) Then change to my BGU-12 and press "T" That's where the problem occurs. I only get the horizontal box, but never the tilted one. As far as I understand, this means that I have found my target, but not locked on with my chosen weapon. Somebody please help :P

All these years later and I still did not know about the targeting pod controls. I have been dive bombing since launch for no reason...

The Macer did not work for me. When I pressed T, it cancelled my target instead of locking on. OKAY. So figured it out a few minutes later. The Macer is not laser-guided, but IR. The vehicle I was targeting was spawned in very recently, so it wasn't hot yet.

The Macer is a Radar lock missel you can lock it with r to for Radar ist’s much easeyer

I’m having this issue where no matter what i do the macer air to ground missiles won’t lock to ground targets. The box appears around them but i hear no beeping whatsoever and i have no idea what else to do. Radar is on, target is even lased, it just won’t lock

Any idea why I cannot get unto the camera when playing Antistasi A3? We have captured several aircraft, 3 A10 among them, and I cannot access the targeting camera, like I can in the fixed wing showcase.

I fly the A10-CII in the DCS. Im confused why the GBU's where dropped using CCIP because it should be CCRP which the game did not put. Im still figuring out when to drop the GBU's and Laze the target.

In fact you dont even need to lock on laser to drop laser guided bombs , with a reasonably altitude/speed I can bomb a targed within 10km with a drone laser on the other side of the map. ( i have a video on my chanel )

Wow, I just recently learned the DCS F-18, this is pretty simple compared to that. I've heard people have struggled with learning the a10 in Arma 3, but compared to DCS, this seems like child's play.

A-10 not having some form of autopilot/autolevel makes this way too cumbersome than necessary.

Good video. Thank you. Unfortunately, the metric system used in the software is not the world's convention in aviation. For example, velocity in aviation throughout all the world is communicated in "knots", i.e., nautical miles/hour. For standards, the international body responsible for standardization is ICAO. While it does focus on civil aviation, military aircraft must utilize the same ATC system throughout the world and, as a result, combat aircraft are built with instrumentation that conforms to the ICAO standards for units of measure. So, the game's interweaving metrics into its aviation terminology mixes ground-based metric terminology, i.e., kilometers/hour for velocity and meters for altitude - not cool. No bueno. The entire world's ATC system conforms to ICAO standards and anyone who flies combat and/or civil aircraft knows ICAO as that standard. Altimeters are calibrated in feet, not meters, for example. ATC worldwide uses "feet" and "knots". I flew lots in the Middle East (Indian Ocean), N/S America, Asia, and Europe. Not only is ICAO standardized about the terms I mention, "English" is also the worldwide official language of aviation. Flights from Frankfurt or Paris, for example, landing in Chicago speak English, not German or French. Landing in any airport requires this. This is for safety so that all pilots on frequency can listen to catch mistakes revealed by listening to other pilots. Arma 3's aircraft instrumentation reflects the real world and reads out correct units, i.e., kts and feet. I have seen some exceptions but they are not "real" world. I point this out because, after all, immersion is a very enjoyable aspect of Arma 3. Unlike DCS which conforms, these variations in aviation standards of terminology that have found their way into the videos affect the feelings of immersion, even disrupting it for hardcore players "in the know". Personally, having flown both Navy combat jets and commercial jets throughout the world for 40 years and never, ever heard any exception to ICAO standards. Mixing the two is courting disaster. While flying off the "boat" in the Navy, we never use metric units. We did adapt some terms to facilitate safety, i.e., "Climb and maintain Angels 8" for example. "Angels 8" means 8,000 FEET, not some metric equivalence. This is just some background I offer because your videos seem to be among some of the best, most-technically accurate. Viewers, especially those unfamiliar with reality, often adapt what they see and hear until the correct terminology is revealed to them. Gamers are smart people and, like those of us who work within these conventions (for safety reasons we need standardization), gamers as a whole seem to enjoy being as "real" as possible. Arma 3's reputation is enhanced by "nearest-realism" possible. Terminology is one of the easiest standards with which to comply to achieve this mantra. This is something to think about when correlating performance, instrumentation, and operational advice regarding flying unless and until the world switches to a different standardization agreement. This discussion is more suited for game software developers but since code and scripts with constants and variables often have the metric system engrained, the momentum may be too much to overcome to ever correct the oversight. Sorry for the long comment and typos but, your videos are excellent and I feel that future KZfaq videos will be more helpful if the terminology matches the instrumentation to which it relates.
