Helicopters still lack Joystick support, really hope they add that. I have over 600 hours of flying in Arma 3 and I always use my trusty low-end Logitech for that, it adds so much to the immersion.

There are so many sim pilots who would enjoy the challenge of using helicopters to support troops, but not with a mouse and keyboard. It is a big fail to not include HOTAS or Head / Eye Tracking. I believe they will add these in the future given the history of ARMA, but is it really that much extra work to include now?

Our community just launched a Reforger server running the Conflict mode and this video and your others were really helpful in understanding WTAF I'm supposed to be doing. Only a couple of us played tonight, but I knew the farm had supplies and we stole some of those after a fight and then took on a roadblock where the AI wrecked us. The game is in such a better place than the last time I played it, it's nice to see the progress BI is making.

Thank you for the video. It brought me up to date with what changed in Reforger, which honestly is a lot since I last played it. Bohemia has added very cool features I must say. About the talking while unconscious: Is it really unconscious or is it just incapacitated? Because as long as you can see with that black tunnel vision thingy I'd say you are not unconscious. Then talking is ok I'd say. It would be cool to have both.

Only issue I’ve found honestly with officials and community. Is the amount of helis able to be airborne at once. And one person summed it up well. Too many Chiefs not enough Indians. Aka to many inexperienced or experienced pilots not enough ground units to even use them or want to be in them. Honestly believe there should only be 2-3 up in the air max and should only be able to spawn another after one blows.

Really disappointed to hear about the lack of joystick/track ir support. Arma 3 has always been one of my favorite games to quickly hop into a cas or transport rotary craft, and I recently upgraded my flight stick setup, so I was looking forward to getting back into reforger for some flying

Someone just showed me how to get Tobii and TrackIR to work, and now I'm a happy camper. Flying with the gamepad is pretty nice, but yeah having a joystick would be better.

I haven't touched arma before today and did the training and flew the helicopter and it was great, you can fre look, and I successfully took off and landed in 1 go with 0 experience in flying in game.

Agree! No reason for supplies to decay unless it is for performance reasons. I would think that the data containing information about what is in the crate-box-backpack would be on the server anyway, and that you recive this when you store it on your inventory. So when you use something, then you tell the server that you did, and then get new data on what the remaining amount is all the time.... So i might just be that the server has to keep track on the location for anything that is not on a person *(Players inventory, vehicle inventory or base storage inventory)* And so if that also relates to the content inside, then it might be bad for performance that stuff is just dropped all around the map. But Star citizen can do it, so why not Bohemia with Arma?!

Damn Fine Vid Ironbeard it has assisted Greatly in Desciphering the new Update as a Sapper in the 75th Ranger Milsim this update is a big ol QOL for me as before It was a game of Ooh just blowing shit up now I can Build up defences and shit and add additional Support to my unit I apreciate your vids of this format very informational and fun to watch

I tried using open track for head tracking yesterday and it worked fine. It’s just very sensitive and needs the settings dialled in.

Same with TrackIR. Needs a very desensitised flat curve to be useable, and it then works well with flying or vehicles. Too jumpy for infantry currently, although further tweaking might help there.

I found it fairly useable as infantry still, but you need a large dead-zone so you can look down sights properly. Being able to turn it on and off like the regular free look would be even better. @@Bavvo69

Is that Future Islands playing in the background? I was amazed that you could plant grass now. 21:03. 😁 No HOTAS support? That's disappointing. I used to use an X55 Rhino combined with CH Pedals in Arma 3. Ended up using my CH Pedals to lean in every other game.

Track IR has been working since the initial release of the game. Although it has gotten buggier in later days, I have been using it since the start of Arma reorder, and do not play without it

I assume supply decay is to counter supply auto regeneration. BI want to avoid too much supply being available on the map, I guess. TBH, seems like supplies are too plentiful now…which I never thought I’d say because I spent the last year complaining about having to truck them all the time! 😂…but there needs to be a sensible balance

Plentiful for the reason that the helicopter takes 1.3k supplies. Not to mention some random spawn several in because they keep crashing. So the base won't have any supplies

I agree that deployed supply decay is not a fun nor immersive design, and that instead it is the new supplies at the source (home base) that needs to be moderated/limited (the later is what they are doing now evidently).

Really depends on what you're looking for. Arma 3 has 10 years of development on a 20 year engine, tons of content, huge milsim community, etc. Reforger is basically a big giant playtest that serves as the foundation for Arma 4, and is still very early. However, it runs much better than Arma 3, and is much less janky.

My only complaint with this update is that nights are way too bright now. They should've just used the prior updates night system with full moon nights, that way forests and shaodowy areas are pitch black and require flashlights but open areas are illuminated with moonlight with the occassional clouds making it pitch-dark. There's just no a use for flashlights or any kind of lights anymore other than buildings.

Be carefull where you place your vehicles supply Station. Trucks spawn without handbrake engaged.. 😅 Didnt notice the supplies sharing is limited among buildings. Hope they make it base wide. I would prefer to do the base layout for the best defense - roleplay. Not to abuse the supply mechanic by playing tetris with Service stations .😅

For stability, official servers are 32 players until they can get them to 64. Community servers go all the way up to 100+ players but aren't as stable.

Track ir is working, but they fucked up sensivity curves. So in trackir software u have to lower curves by 100, and set speed to something like 0.2. Don't know how it works for toby tho.

@@SirIronbeard Hmm I did answer this, but comment disappeared. Ok so, freelook with alt works if u doesn't have any inputs from headtracking. In track ir software we have curves, i'm using flat curves, so i set all points on y axis to 0.1, and using overall speed of 0.2. Which give 100 times lover sensivity then i would be using normally.

@@SirIronbeard foxhole kind of invented the supply constant war thing and it got massively popular a few years ago and still is. I did more research and reforger is 100% a copy of that system which is great. I’m downloading reforger now.
