I should've went to med school !!!!!! 😒Some sections of some states , bypass , because the care you get is poor . Never have I experienced this type of care in NY at all . @@angelar.2088 It depend on the doctor/doctors. It don't matter where you live or whatever. A lot of doctors dismiss the symptoms that women relay to them that they are experiencing. They tend to try to make women believe it's only in their mind. They are arrogant and prideful, and don't like to admit when they are wrong. That's the main issues.

Could you please tell me what kind of symptoms you have? I have been dealing with something with my Esophagus for about 4 years now and it’s getting worse. I had a Barium Swallow Through that only showed Presbyesophagus. I have constant throat gurgles with sounds like little bubbles that happens ever single time I even swallow my saliva. I made the mistake of eating a large meal a couple of evenings ago and have been feeling crappy ever since. Every time I have something found, it’s always called mild even though this has been going on so long that now I’m starting to lose weight which after Menopause, I was a little happy about at first but now I’m gradually losing more weight and hope it doesn’t keep going down. The Barium test showed abnormal Peristalsis with lack of primary, secondary contractions with only tertiary contractions noted. I got sick from having to drink all of the fluids before the test and it ended up coming back out about 10 minutes after finishing the drink. I can’t eat large portions and noticed more trouble with lettuce and other raw veggies which I ate a couple of days ago. Sometimes when I bend over, bitter acid type liquid comes out of my throat in to my mouth. I hope that my Esophageal nerves aren’t permanently damaged. I’ve had to basically be my own doctor and have had to ask specifically for the tests that I had (I’m a RN although I can’t work anymore so I have some idea of what to ask for) because I don’t seem to get anywhere. My upper Endoscopy showed not much but some Candida which is what I thought was causing my problems so I asked for some Nystatin that I took for 10 days and it helped slightly but not as much as much as I had hoped. I did that two different times within 6 months and that gnawing feeling is still there. I have a little bulge that sticks out below my sternum and above my upper stomach which is where the discomfort is. I started making my own Sourdough bread ( milling my own flour as well ) and I have a batch of Kombucha that will be ready shortly, all of which I’ve tried to get some pre and probiotics in my stomach but if my nerves are damaged, that won’t probably change anything but is still good for my health so I guess it shouldn’t hurt anything. I don’t drink pop or beer because of the excessive carbonation which doesn’t really agree with me. I had a perforated Appendix 5 years ago and there was a suspicious area on my Gallbladder as well as sludge, so I had that removed and ended up with postoperative hemorrhaging and ended up back in surgery and getting 4 units of blood. My mom has a history of terrible Abdominal Adhesions, Hiatal Hernia, and had to have a Nissen Fundoplication and ended up needing her Esophagus her Esophagus dilated a couple of times and has to take long term vitamin supplements because of that surgery with a portion of her stomach removed from the damage of the acid and Adhesions. I’m going to make another appointment to go and see a Gastrointestinal doctor but will probably end up waiting several months before I can get in because I live in a rural area and have to travel to see someone.

What treatment u r having.any improvement..

I was also diagnosed, waiting on an endoscope to dilate the muscle. Today was the second time in two weeks I choked on my food due to being unable to swallow, having never had it happen before. So scary. I just hope I won't have to wait too much longer incase one day someone isn't around to save me 😞

That seems to always be the first conclusion…that we are all mental cases. Do they think people really want to go to the doctor when it’s so outrageously expensive and like your visit, get told nothing is wrong with you. It’s medical gaslighting as I’ve come to know. I hope you’re doing better, you’re so young for something like this.

That sounds more like what I have versus the diagnosis of Presbyesophagus. Only occasional tertiary contractions noted, no primary or secondary contractions with abnormal peristalsis. 52 years old with Fibromyalgia, arthritis, and degenerative disc disease. I need to get in to see someone again and ask some different questions.

Yes manometry and esophageal swallow (barium swallow) while radiologist views swallow via fluoro x-ray.

This doesn't work, I'm bad enough now that all I can handle is waters and a quarter bowl of soup, situation hasn't improved so it seems it's down to doctors for me now

My achalasia got to the point that during that manometry test (the gold standard for diagnosing), even after having fasted, they reported back 100% ineffective swallows and 90% failed swallows, and that was just with a few milliliters at a time of saline. I felt like I was choking on it. Unfortunately if the LES won’t open enough to let food and fluids through no amount of fasting and waiting will help it. It just progressively gets worse over time

I’ve been doing this for several years now. Every time I have a worsening of symptoms, I basically don’t eat for several days and that sometimes helps but it always comes back. I’m having some kind of flare up right now hence the reason I’m looking for answers. The US health system is not good at all. End up waiting months to see someone only to have the appointment cancelled. Try again I guess but they will probably tell me there’s nothing wrong again or downplay what they find is abnormal. All I’ve been told is that I have Presbyesophagus at the age of 52.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

Because it's a rare disorder there isn't enough demand and money to research such a device

What symptoms do u feel?

My wife told me to tell other Achalasia suffers what we discovered that helps and is a non-invasive medical procedure. I started out suffering from Acid reflux for the past 10 years in the last 6 months my food wouldn't go into my stomach. I spent hours on hours spewing up my food and just by chance I found a cure woo hoo. I want to share with other Achalasia suffers. For the past month, this is what helped me open the lower oesophageal sphincter (LES). Ok, I use this every day, every time I eat, everywhere I go, I carry this just like I do my cell phone, it's called a Terminal Zapper or the basic zapper they both work, man I'm free from spewing up all the fricken time so exhausting. @@GWT139 Are you trying to kill someone? You can die from untreated Achalasia. I am one of those who almost didn't make it. No zapper is gonna help with Achalasia. People need to see a doctor for that. Not zapping worms and parasites out of your system, with a "magical" zapper. This is a real disease, and needs real treatment.

sir.. I m.24 at present..i m Also suffering from.. The same prob. Since 2018 , nd now I m diagnosed with Type 1achlasia....i was investigated with (Endoscopy, barium swallow , manometry, chest xray) also I have antral ersosion.

All I can say is that I had the POEM Procedure and I am eating back to normal. The only foods that I have problems with are roasted chicken and peanut butter. The Internet says that there is no cure, but the POEM procedure is near close..

@@camilo1601 Good Morning. Yes, I am feeling great! I don't have any side effects at all. Its about been about 2.5 months and I would say it was 95% effective. The only foods/liquids that I have problems with our fried foods and peanut butter. Also, I am putting back on weight again...... One thing that has helped me is to drink a glass of Almond Milk after eating to wash out the esophagus.
