Nikole Van Duyn Just work out a lot. The better your fitness, the easier the course will be. -Work on your chin ups (do at least 7. More the better for pre para) -mile run (try to run it under 6:20) -practice your push ups (sets of 25 because you’ll be doing a lot of sets of 25 at the course 😂😂😂

I led the detachments from the 12th Special Forces Gp that flew NOE in 2 US SOF CM-130s up to Edmonton CFB in 1976 to participate in a joint training operation with the Canadian Airborne Regiment (part of which was to become qualified in Canadian airborne operations / and the Canadians in ours). At the end of the operation, we were awarded our Canadian Parachute Badges and the Canadians were awarded ours in a shared ceremony on the parade ground. I can assure you that every American proudly wears those Canadian jump wings with fond memories of the time we served side-by-side with the "Gallant Men of the Great White North."

What a wonderful video. Earned my wings over 30 years ago and proudly wore the maroon beret in two operational theatres. The pride shown in the faces of the graduates and instructors was fiercely real and well-earned. Well done. Ex Ceolis. Airborne.

What's all that face and neck wiping about at 2:12 mins? Our (Brit) drills remain the same as our predecessors' during WWII so it's a new one on me. Don't you have leg straps on your containers (2:56 mins, Outdoor Exit Trainer)? They prevent the container swinging up and injuring chest/face. Neat that you jump with snow shoes - don't have much call for that over here...

I know this is a six month old thread, but the U.S.Army ROTC cadets do go to Military schools(Combat Dive, Jump, Pathfinder) usually between years 3&4(sometimes 2 depending on the school CSM). JROTC would be highschool kids in America, and I pretty sure the Canadian Cadets are college level Cadets.

Great effort. The only problem I have with this is that the cadets are NOT AIRBORNE and neither are the CIC/COATS adults staff. "Airborne" is reserved for soldiers and these people are NOT soldiers. The comment that the there is "a mission" still to complete after landing is not true. They should NOT be wearing AIRBORNE tee-shirts.

Amazing how there are actual serving soldiers in the Canadian Army, both Regular and Reserve, just dying to get a Jump course, and they give it to teen-aged cadets. Not cool. And for those 16-year olds who got the course, well I guess you may technically be entitled to wear the maroon Airborne t-shirt, but maybe, just maybe it should stay neatly folded in your dresser until you've actually become a soldier and served in an operational Parachute Company.
@robearney5372
@robearney5372 Жыл бұрын
I did my Jump Course as a Canadian Army Cadet , then multiple tours in the Australian Army. If you're saying those t-shirts should only be for Operational Airborne Units. Does that mean those units actually jumped in Combat? I'm curious when the last Canadian Infantry unit jumped into action? So maybe, just maybe most of us need to put our t-shirt on the shelf.
