1980's crossover of American/Soviet Action. I love that. Thanks a lot. Arnold is fantastic here.

Just watched this again on Blu-Ray. The action was good but the acting just elevated everything. MVP - Maybe Ed O' Ross.

I remember when my dad owned a VHS rental store in the 80s. He would get free copy of samples of movies he might be interested in buy and either got whole movies with time codes on them so as not to be used for rental, or making of's and THIS here was one of them I watched over and over again. It just added to my obsession to becoming a film director.

when I worked in a video store in the 80's, staff had the option of taking home video's that were not rented out at the time of store close, as long as the tapes were back at the store by the time the store opened next day. Free movie hire. This was one, Croc Dundee was popular, The Krays (to name a few).

Red Heat is great movie, mix of Dirty Harry & 48 Hrs.. Schwarzenegger & Belushi are terrific as cops, the characters & themselves have good relationship. 👍🌟🌟🌟

I have got this movie DVD of James Belushi and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Russian Agent in Red Heat I am dedicating this movie DVD to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyxxxxx

this film was part of a batch of 10 vhs cassettes that my mom got for me back in 1989. i watched this & the other films, sooooo many times. i can literally do about 80% of the dialogue verbatim. now that i'm older, here's the one thing that i just don't get... viktor & the cleanheads were serious badasses. viktor "needed his key". it was a key to a locker at a bus station, containing the 5 mil$ needed to complete the drug deal. can't these bad ass gangsters just get a shady locksmith to open the locker? or, just pry it open themselves, if any security guard noticed, who cares? they already killled cops, what's a bus station locker after all that? doesn't really matter though, fun flick with a great cast.

I know the film is supposed to be in Chicago, but there are some scenes filmed in LA, you can see some of the LA Style bridges that cross the LA River in some scenes.

It‘s strange to view in english. I have seen the movie around 50-60 times. But in german.

same for me,i have always seen the film in italian so it seems a bit strange in english, even the dialogues when Belushi said ''dirty harry''in the italian version is ''inspector callaghan'' as the italian version tittle of ''dirty harry''
