Goldsboro is like a tune that you want to hum again and again. The music starts with a stroll around the newly renovated and increasingly eclectic downtown. Recorded songs flow from the lamppost speakers. Someone plays the public piano on South Center Street. The wind whistles through the trees. The train tracks rattle. Even the jets overhead, taking off and landing at nearby Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, lend a certain rhythm to the air.
Stop in for a visit and add your own melody to the mix. You’ll be glad you did.

Ms. Brandi Matthews was recently elected as Goldsboro's first African American woman on our city counsel. She is the Gold in Goldsboro!

I was really sorry to learn the passing of Mayor Allen. This video is what introduced me to him and painted a picture of Goldsboro, making it a place I want to move to. I didn't know at the time I watched that he had passed and it is heartbreaking to say the least. May the city be as loved as when he was it's mayor. 💚

I was born & raised in Goldsboro. I remember when Mickey's Pastries was downtown. I also marched in Christmas Parades in high school (Eastern Wayne), when Angelo Holman, Jr. was the Band Director (RIP). Looking forward to visiting again real soon...

Goldsboro is not that bad. Yes we have crime but so does every city in the world I am actually proud of my home town, especially recently. The way our protest have been so peaceful. Say what ya will, but Goldsboro is not that bad

I grew up there. I just learned that it now has the highest per capita murder rate in the state and it's pretty high up for the whole country. I'm not sure what happened?

I lived in Goldsboro in the mid 90's. Low wages, hostility to non locals, awful schools and plenty of crime.

I think they doing a great job at making Goldsboro look better but unfortunately they lost touch with keeping the jobs in Goldsboro used to be plenty opportunities for jobs but unfortunately now most good paying jobs has left Goldsboro the company I used to work at they shutdown operations and move operations to China and Wisconsin but I guess there's good and bad in every situation it's all in how you look at it

Everyone that gets a college education leaves Goldsboro because there are no jobs in the Goldsboro . The few good paying companies left. The people that lived in goldsboro for a long time are didgusted with how they ruined down town Goldsboro, When the mall on Berkley Blv. opened up businesses left downtown Goldsboro like rats leaving a sinking ship, Now they want them back downtown? Good luck with that. All that wasted tax money spent downtown would have been better speny getting companies to come to Goldsboro.
