In this video, my friend Simon and I head off to Scotland to climb our first munros. We followed a challenging 11 mile route with 4500ft of ascent. The weather was on our side and we had magnificent views over the Arrochar alps and beyond

Yes! Great wee adventure Anthony in the famous Arrochar Alps! The addition of the cobbler is a long day and a few extra feet of ascent. A great walk though and the views from Beinn Ime down the rest and be thankful are always amazing. Thanks for the wee shout out and hope you managed to visit some of the other locations too! I know a secret sensational wild camp location near Beinn Ime! Maybe I will share it with you! Cheers again mate! Paul

Brilliant Anthony and Simon, I have only been up about 5 Munroe's and Ben Lomond was the first when I was 22. I never forget it, on a bit of a road trip and never knew anything about hills or walking really. Best wishes. TFS🙏👍

Hi Dave. Scotland sure is a magnificent place for us hill walkers. The scenery is spectacular wherever you turn. I filled a memory card with the amount of photos I took!. Ben Lomond is a fab looking hill isn’t it? I didn’t get to walk it unfortunately as we were on the opposite side of the loch and decided to stick to our Arrochar base. I’d love to go back up and walk it at some point though. Thanks very much for watching

Scotland's weather treats you well....again! There is something quite special about mountains by the coast....it all adds a bit of drama. I think Beinn Narnain is the first Munro for a lot of folk....me included. 🙂

Hi Chris. Yes, I was quite fortunate with the weather again. The temperatures dropped a little after this day, but the rain mostly stayed away until the day we left when it absolutely threw it down! The only other bit of rain was perfectly timed as we headed over to a bothy which should be my next video all being well. Thanks for watching 🙂

Hi mate, I’ve been so busy recently that I’ve only just caught up with your last three videos. So great to watch. Looks like you had an epic time on all of them, especially Scotland. You’ve done well with the weather. Already looking forward to the next one. Keep up the great work 👍😊

No worries Rob. I don’t have much time to watch KZfaq these days either. Life sure is busy and best spent being outdoors and active rather than stuck indoors watching YT.

Good stuff Anthony, looked a grand day for it. Beinn Ime was my tenth Munro had to come back for Narnain another time as I got caught in a snow blizzard and felt out my depth at the time. PA Adventures is a good lad. 😁 PS, you've probably realised since, but its Ben Arthur. Arthur's Seat is my local hill in Edinburgh. 😜
@AnthonyJohnson1
@AnthonyJohnson1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Robin. It was a fab weather day. The views were spectacular from both summits. You’re right, I did spot the error as Arthur’s seat is also marked on the map but it beneath the summit of Ben Arthur. I think I got a bit giddy because I could actually pronounce something 😂. I’d like to come back up to Scotland to do a winter skills course at some point. We very rarely get the types of conditions down south that prepare you for full on Scottish winter mountaineering, so I wouldn’t be confident enough to venture onto those munros in that kind of weather either! Thanks for watching. Hope you’re good
@WalkWithWallace
@WalkWithWallace Жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyJohnson1 ah I see. I wonder where you got Arthur's Seat from, I don't have that on my 1:50k map. A winter skills course is a shrewd investment, our winters aren't great either unfortunately, they're arriving later in the season now. I'm not overly confident in winter, so I stick to the more rounded peaks.

Epic indeed Anthony! If I ever go to Scotland again myself, I must take you with to gaurantee good weather 😄 Just awesome views over Loch Lomond and Loch Long, especially where you could see right down to the sea. I did laugh at your comment at Simon knowing you might be off to the pub later hence his descending like a mountain goat! 😅 Very scenic walk indeed Anthony, look forward to seeing any more you might have done during your week in Scotland. All the best 👍

Thanks Patrick. I’ve been very fortunate with my 2 Scotland trips this year. Only one day of rain in 11 days! Totally different story with the Lake District as I’ve only ever seen rain there in recent times! Simons speed down that mountain surprised me. He was crawling up but almost ran back down. I can only put it down to the prospect of a nice pint of local ale!

FYI The Cobbler is Ben Arthur not Arthur's Seat which is in Edinburgh, easy mistake to make.

What a great days hiking, with great weather, which is always a bonus in Scotland. The views really were epic, Scotland so special, as is completing your first Munroe. Well done. Hopefully the weather will hold, so you can tick of a couple more before the week is over. I'm off up there in a few weeks myself and can't wait.

The camera never does them justice unfortunately. Those 2 munros were great fun though and quite tough in places but as we know the great views have to be earned 😆. It sure is a beautiful place.
