This hike takes in the 2 Munros Beinn Narnain & Beinn Ime as well as a hike up The Cobbler aka Ben Arthur. I'm accompanied by my friend Christine, who once again puts up with my cheek and is climbing her first Munro in many a year. It was an epic day of hiking with super clear views in all directions. The hike starts out from the Succoth car park in Arrochar and at the time of our hike it was £1 per hour but free after 6pm.

Good fun to watch your trip up the Munros. It is a landscape I have only read about before and this is the first time I have had a chance to see how it looks like. And I am very impressed by how it is on a day with nice weather and I got a longing for the open mountains watching you and Christine working your way up! Well Christine likes to eat a 3 course meal for lunch or that's what I call it ha ha. I think she has a fridge and everything in there 😀 The weather really did help make the day and with no haze the views were awesome. It's on of the main reasons for hiking. Hey Paul. Well this was my first video to view. I normally start from the beginning but thanks to Alan's recommendation and the fact I saw 'the cobbler' in there I just couldn't wait. Cool...looks like you had the perfect day for it...we walked up to the Cobbler a few years ago, only to find out later that we only visited the lower of the two tops...oh well we will maybe get back up there one day...cool video.

Well if it's any consolation I went up North Peak by scrambling up a dodgy slab to find there is an easy path that goes round the back. I took the easy path down. The weather was great on the day with no haze so the views were amazing. Thanks for dropping me a comment, it's much appreciated 👍 Paul

The first loch you did was amazing, the views are just stunning. Really enjoyed walking along with you. Amazing music too, amazing to see the scrambles too. A very successful creator said "A bad subtitle is better than no subtitle". There is a difference between an autogenerated subtitle and an what you add through YT STUDIO. They do not have to be the same. I say simple introduction, location, date time a basic description of the view would be good. I type these in English and add the other languages. It adds another layer of data collection to the ANALYTICS tab. What you narrate is displayed in the transcript feature (three dots below a video). The cool thing about the transcript is it's timestamped and it can be translated😉(only available if subtitles are enabled) I don't narrate because my voice doesn't sound like me🤣. Hearing loss and ringing in my right ear. Too much artillery fire in the late '80s. Anyway, great scenery and watch out for the midges. 👍🐲

Well I try to add where I am hiking to along with the date and the parking area I use to start from. On my latest video I added a very detailed description of the hike, almost like a blog post. I was thinking of retrospectively doing the same for the other videos already on my channel. Does that mean I need to enable the subtitle option on my video for that feature to get used or the option to be used? I'm still kind of experimenting with what works and what doesn't work with videos so hopefully they improve as I go. Did you get any compensation for that hearing loss? The midges weren't too bad on this one but that couldn't be said for some of later hikes in Scotland yet to be edited on video 👍 Thanks for the feedback 👍

@@TheHikingHermit The detailed description is great even if very few people read them (my personal experience) .I do, especially cooking videos. The AI bots read and parse them. That info is used by the search engines. Adding a bunch of # tags is a NO-NO. Also, from what I recently read, changing a video by changing titles, descriptions and thumbnails doesn't help much and could be a negative. That aside, subtitles are somewhat external to the actual video. Many YTbers go back and add them later. It's a huge advantage for foreign language speakers. Again, you don't have to add the complete narration. I used to watch old Chinese kung fu movies with overdubs in English. It seemed to take a lot longer to say "buzz-off" in Chinese🤣🤣. Same thing. People might appreciate something they understand. I think subtitles should always be enables. That doesn't interfere with the video transcript or the ability to translate what you're saying. I think the big benefit of different languages is the fact that YT tracks when these are used. For instance, I know the girls in Indonesia, the Philippines and India watch the entire video (80 % of my subs are female😁) I had a recent MRI and will be refiling my claim soon. Cheers Paul👍

I must admit I have watched videos and not had a clue what's going on cos its in a foreign language. I plan adding a blog description of the hike in my videos from now on anyway. I will look at the subtitle stuff. I hope you get some decent compensation. 👌 Cheers , Paul 👍
