Ordegaard really protected Nwaneri when he came on. He behaved like a nurturing senior player like Jorgi. He showed real trust in him and often gave him the ball.

Great pod gents. Particularly enjoyed Paul's comparison of Nwaneri to the Son of Man who has come to seek and to save, that which was lost. I too heard Gabriel's (the angel not our CB) harp playing softly in the background. Very much looking forward to the rewatch (even if its just first half) on Patreon. COYG!

Paul's point on our new intuitive team play and our enhanced appreciation of space is our evolution. The manager now understands, the players now understand and as individuals and as a team we will be able to do some incredible things. Love you guys, the force needs y'all for balance. For me I kind of understand that a lot of our fans are so easily frustrated, it's like the football equivalent of "we haven't been laid in 20 years" so we have a lot of pent up feelings that manifest at the slightest thing. I think this analogy fits well because I like to think of Spurs as the guy who never got laid 😂😂😂

Odegaard almost mentored him into the game. Kept giving him it in a way didn’t presshim but encouraging him. Boy wonder to boy wonder? Odegaard was well ahead of that mind you. Watching Odegaard first sub appearance at Real hard to imagine he didn’t make it. Almost had 3 assists

Gentlemen I saw more of Ethan than Vierra Nelson Eddie Cedric and Clive you were so right about what you said that the players wanted to pass to him but I think he is as good as Fabregas and Jack at this age. Ps why cant we bring on Walters instead of Cedric at that moment

I think Arteta has learned from last year. By breaking down the season into two. Instead of blazing out the traps. Arteta has forced the team to concentrate on controlling the game for the first part of the season and for the second part back to attacking football for the second part. If we don't win the prem this year than I reckon Arteta will combined the two styles. Kind of like what Wenger did in the run up to the invincible season eg Whole season at home dominate than the next whole season dominate away. Invincible season combine the both

I suspect the run in will show just how influential Trossard is. His end product is better than Jesus; I wonder if Arteta will use him more. There were some very interesting tactical movements in this game; White inverting was primary to opening up Saka and Odegaard to run the game. Trossard floating was the other and as good a false 9 show you will see. He does what Jesus does with end product.

Can we batter Porto? I hope so. RealM had some probs with Leip today. But watching the game it was terrible defense and no organization for both teams. I hope the Gunners stick to the hard core defence and make sure it is a clean sheet.

I think Arsenal is taking some lessons from American sports in terms of disrupting opposition zonal defense during set pieces. This is a lot what they do in basket ball and football; just getting in people's way to restrict opponent movement.

Yes! Like in the NBA when they set a screen or do a Pick and Roll to change defenders and impede progress. Very brilliant stuff going on out there.

Conspiracy theory: Player injuries are planned to keep selection choice pressure off the manager to help keep everything stable and focused inside the camp. There are so many seemingly innocuous injuries that happen "off camera" that tend to make the selection of the squad come game day a no brainer, I do wonder if this is a tactic now. The fact that Jorginho was ruled out because "he's old & put in effort in the last game" just seems a little off. Apparently he was carrying a knock, yet played the best I've ever seen him play. I think he's just been rested, so there's truth to it, but I think this is done so we don't doubt the selection, because after Liverpool we'd all be saying "why isn't Jorginho playing?!?" After that game. It's smart if true, because it's small details like that which could effect the atmosphere in the crowd and ultimately the result. And we know Arteta is all about finding an edge

How did Eddie beat Shearer under 21 records. Fox in the box? He runs about and contributes outside box but his finishing is insipid. In training not so they say so must be mental? Occasional flash of nice movement but boy doesn't strike his efforts with conviction. I keep hoping 😢

I don’t think will win the league this season we still lack 4 top quality players who are fit or needed in certain positions. Imagine 4 transfer for example Toney> Nketiah Zubamendi>Partey Neto>Nelson 1 more versatile defender. We make these transfers with some ins and outs. I can see us dominating the league next season.
