You know, (and I apologise to all the Englishmen here), growing up in the 90s and hitting early adulthood in the 00s, it’s not Arsenal, who’s my top sports team of all time (est. 1992, Dhaka, Bangladesh), but the other one, the dominant (and possibly the greatest team in the history of the game) Australian cricket team of the early 2000s under Steve Waugh, that gave me the marker of what it is needed to be a true champion. Random one day match against Sri Lanka, a dead rubber game because Australia had already won the 5 match series 3-0, last ball of the game, Australia winning by a whopping 196 runs, and Mahela Jayawardene (poor chap; batted all the way downhill) hit Jason Gillespie for what seemed like an inevitable yet pointless boundary, 4 runs easy peasy. Yet, out of seemingly nowhere, a swooping Glenn McGrath out near the ropes runs all the way and slides in, stopping the ball from going past the boundary. It doesn’t matter that you’ve already killed the game; you have to play it with heart, brain and resilience and conviction till the final whistle is blown. And that is what has impressed me the most in the Burnley game, like you lot pointed out.

The way i see it. Once the new season starts everyone forgets about the last season's winners. Are we only allowed to be happy and celebrate between June and August each year thats it? Fuck that. Enjoy the entire ride throughout the season.

Would I say Arsenal is the best managed team in the world? Probably not, but it's definitely in the top 10. The problem is saying your the best of anything is completely subjective. Man City can happily say they are the best team in the world because they literally won EVERYTHING ❤😂 So because management is such a loaded subject....I mean there are Man U fans who still think Ten Hag is the best manager in the Premiership. So let's win the Premiership first let's win the Champions League first then we can start assigning merit badges. ❤😂

Some teams win _in spite_ of not being particularly well managed. Spain's Women's National Team is a case in point. Those players would have won that World Cup last year regardless of who was managing them. Conversely, you can have an above-average team outperform a superlative team because of more effective management. The 2004-2005 Arsenal was superior in just about every way to the Chelsea of the same season, but Jose Mourihno outcoached Arsene Wenger that season.

Do you think we are "over coached"? As in, there were a lot of instances earlier in the season where we looked very rigid and players looked like they could only do the things Arteta was telling them to do... **Comment about Arteta orchestrating on the touchline**

I think last season kinda killed the confidence. You can't lead like that and flop like that. So fans are being safe, if we win then WIN if we don't win it then WIN as well. So fans are not going to say thing with their chest. Plus add the results before this run, they don't inspire

Arsenal fans who have experienced the lowest moments know how last season felt and do not want to give it all this season. Maybe you are the one who needs to grow up

I agree with that. I mean, I remember with 8-10 games to go last season they were some arsenal fans already 'at the parade' in their minds and they were very loud about it, which was ridiculous and I kept saying calm down lol But it is about balance, being positive, but in a quiet way i.e. not being grandiose/over-confident, but not doom and gloom either. Enjoy it, be excited, but in a kind of calm way. I remember we were more like that 20+ years ago... 🤷‍♂ its almost like 20 years without a major some our fanbase don't know how to react, either totally giddy, or everything is bad. Very bi-polar.
