I like your videos for seeing how you work through a day. I like seeing how other artist's structure their day or work through problems. I work in very different mediums, but I still find your videos to be very relatable. I personally like casual videos that you could have on in the background while working, and it almost feels like you're just working alongside another artist talking about their day.

That's what I do! I often have podcasts playing in the background or listen to youtube channel videos as I paint. Keeps me company while I work!

I love these kind of videos, very diverse and real. I love your work and like you said earlier in the video, I can relate to some of the in between moments of life and work or school. So keep up the awesome content! :)

Being serious all the time can be exhausting. I suppose it is more fun to be relaxed and be myself on camera. Glad you liked the video :)

Coming in late because I'm rewatching this video and I was too nervous to comment last time :) Just wanted to say that you've been a massive massive inspiration of mine over the past five odd years or so. Your art and positivity and passion helped me through some really dark times, specifically your Off The Grid series and I'm so grateful that artists like you exist, put your work out there and show people your process. Love seeing videos like this, love seeing the incredible work you're doing, and love seeing you painting what you love. Please keep creating!!

Thank you so much Briana for these really thoughtful words. I'm so glad to hear that you found my work helpful to you! Being an artist can be difficult at times but it is a rewarding practice, and ultimately one that you can do throughout your life! Sending you a big hug! :)

Ive been painting and working for a very long time. You are doing all the right stuff , keep at it, you have all the right tech info, we older ones put it off with lifes havetos and then it can be to late. Try some Northern Ontario, Georgian Bay waterscapes if you havent, might love it. Great job! Nancy Ludlow Wasaga Beach,On.

I don't care if I'm late this morning! But I'm watching this video, I won't miss it for the world!! 😂🎨 I like that you are real in your videos, that you tell us you're not really in the mood but you do finish, it's very motivating! Plus I would love to see more videos on how you decide on what to paint and the process on painting it, like most of your videos.

Love these videos, please keep on making them! I suppose what's compelling about your vlogs is the chill vibe, how you pace the video with 'chapters', you being real and sharing your thoughts. What we all love about vlogs in general is getting to peer into another person's life and get to know their personality! Also you're very well-spoken and formulate what's on your mind in a very engaging way. Would love to see more of these, such a great way to start the day off! :)

I felt so weird sharing a video like this one so hearing you say that is a bit of a relief. It's hard for me to be myself on camera so letting go of the awkwardness that is talking into my phone while I'm working and chit chatting is a work in progress hahaha! Thanks for the kind words Nina :)

Hello! Which varnishes do you use? How much do you use, and which brushes do you use to apply it?
@BeauBFrank
@BeauBFrank 4 жыл бұрын
I'm using gamvar picture varnish/ in this case blending 50% satin with 50% gloss. I'm using a regular sponge brush from Michaels which was super cheap. (black ones with a little wooden handle). I use only once then toss. If I use a varnish brush, I wrap it in saran wrap since the varnish reactivates upon reapplying varnish.

I paint some of my friends or reach out to photographers to use their images as references! It depends on the series and where I’m focusing my energy on!

all good! I started wearing gloves about a year ago when I started to get a little messy while painting. Before I didn't really need it since I was careful with how I painted and rarely splattered or got paint everywhere.

What brand of oils do you use?

Currently exploring Williamsburg paints but I have a few Gamblin tubes and pebeos paints that are being used as of late. I used to work exclusively with pebeo paints but I've been exploring other brands!

I built a following on instagram to create momentum and started selling through galleries that I applied to. I did both direct sales and gallery sales to move artwork. I also began selling auctions on instagram through the comment section. (I am half asian to answer your question lol. Mostly Cambodian, Chinese and a dash of Japanese from my Mom's side)

I’d like to hear about your auction. How many pictures you sell, how fast and at what sort of prices. Things like that.
@BeauBFrank
@BeauBFrank 4 жыл бұрын
I've been doing auctions for about a year. I've sold maybe 75-80 pieces through auction and prices have ranged from selling for $80 to $250 depending on the demand and the competition over a piece. Sometimes I spend 10 minutes on a piece and other times I'll spend 6-8 hours or work on a piece in multiple sessions with layers.

@@ok-jz7vu feel free to do some research and keep in mind the space you work in. If your work space is small, having an easel that can fold up is good. If you like to work both flat and standing. The easel linked is good since you can place your painting flat for varnishing for instance. If you work only small, having a tabletop easel is just as good for small canvases. Also keep in mind price range for what's affordable or an investment for long term use. Good luck :)

I am confused between this two easels one is same like you My requirements is only the stability I work on small canvases 8x10 and also on big canvases like 40x30 Price Price of easel like you - 165$ in india Price of folding easel -96$ in india Can you suggest me please
@BeauBFrank
@BeauBFrank 3 жыл бұрын
@@ok-jz7vu this is a question I can't answer for you. If you plan on working with this easel and don't plan on moving places from where you currently are, then perhaps the sturdy easel would be best. If you plan on relocating within the next few years. A large easel like that one can be a hassle to move around. If you plan on making artwork and potentially selling work, you can earn back the money through sales. Best of luck to you :)

I have been watching ALL of your videos, and i like them, but i stumbled on your channel because of the PAINTING, and i found very little of you painting. Some videos have just the part where you paint sped up! How annoying to see just the part one is interested in, cut off! It would be nice to see your painting techniques, to see how you go back on your palette to mix the next color, ( maybe the palette and the canvas in the same shot if possible). *P.S.* Handrest. Just go back to the old ways, that is get a stick and attach a kind of a hook on the top so that you can hook it on the top of the easel and can move across the canvas without touching the canvas!

Hey Raffa, Thanks for watching my content. I'm currently taking a step back from it all to start thinking about what I want to do with this channel. I don't have the proper equipment to capture high quality video of me painting so I'm trying to figure out how to be better about it. (I've been using my iPhone lol). I'll try to create more tutorial based content and hands on painting. Stay tuned!

@@BeauBFrank I will stay tuned I will NOT miss you, can't wait! Obviously, we all will appreciate, the high Definition videos with all the fancy equipment, when you'll get it, but we watch your channel already, and we don't mind. We rather watch a low-quality video, than NOT to watch you at all! I WOULD LOVE to get some Tips on painting to get some techniques and Tricks from you!!!
