Mastetpiece. How lucky those young musicians... they got to perform the best album ever together with the legend who made it.

He's assembled a good band around him here. They are tight and doing his fantastic music justice. Arthur was never given the status he deserved in music. A brilliant chap

In a way he was given great status in that the Forever Changes album has forever been a darling of critics and fans of all ages and makes all the 'great' lists. That's not exactly obscure.

@@toddparke8535 that's true brother but in the grand scheme of things the name "Love" and "Arthur Lee" are still pretty obscure. And in his lifetime Lee couldn't make good money from his art, which he deserved.

One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands ever! Arthur Lee was a true genius! Also despite this song being written in the 60s and how Arthur was inspired for writing this song after hearing a story from a Vietnam veteran about what it was like over there, this song is more relevant than ever in this day and time. It's extremely relevant with the COVID-19 pandemic, Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine that could potentially turn nuclear, the political climate here the United States, and even climate change that is happening all over the world, those events make this song more relevant than ever!

On the record was it John Echols and Lee on guitar or one or the others? At my house I've got no shackles You can come and look if you want to In the halls you'll see the mantles Where the light shines dim all around you And the streets are paved with gold and if Someone asks you, you can call my name Verse 2: You are just a thought that someone Somewhere somehow feels you should be here And it's so for real to touch To smell, to feel, to know where you are here And the streets are paved with gold and if Someone asks you, you can call my name You can call my name I hear you calling my name yeah all right now Verse 3: By the time that I'm through singing The bells from the schools of walls will be ringing More confusions, blood transfusions The news today will be the movies for tomorrow And the water's turned to blood, and if You don't think so Go turn on your tub And it it's mixed with mud You'll see it turn to gray And you can call my name I hear you call my name

Brian on lead and John on rhythm, Arthur probably on acoustic a lot but mostly drowned out...
@jimmybrooks2000 Жыл бұрын
Bryan Maclean was rhythm and Johnny Echols was lead. The solo at the end was Johnny Echols playing one solo and then overdubbing that solo with another solo

One of the greatest songs ever off one of the greatest albums ever, but one thing that bothered me with Arthur Lee was the continued use of the name 'Love'. This is not Love. He should have come up with new names for his new bands. The band that wrote and performed Forever Changes was Bryan Maclean, Johnny Echols, Ken Forssi and Michael Stuart.
@jospinvanraat87304 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter. Love was the former members. He had a right to use it. Look at many of their compositions - A. Lee. It took 40 plus years to bring his message forth.
