Incredible to see this live and so well done. The song “ You Set the Scene “ is a masterpiece within a masterpiece. It was written and born during the Vietnam era but it escapes it’s time period and is genuinely timeless !

I adore this song. It's my favourite song from one of my favourite albums, where EVERY title is a classic. This live version is superb. One musician in particular really grabs my attention, although she doesn't feature that prominently in the video; I'm talking about the young violinist with long straight blonde hair. She transmits her joy at being part of the experience in her face and her body language - she's totally having a ball! Her smile and head movement at 06' 26" explain exactly what I'm saying. Don't blink, or you'll miss her! My wife and I saw 'Love with Arthur Lee' twice in the early noughties - in Wrexham and Shrewsbury, U.K. This was Arthur with the bare band, excluding the brass and string sections. They performed the Forever Changes album and they were fantastic on both occasions. R.I.P. Arthur Lee - truly one of the greats.

The fact that he was performing in this venue, with an orchestra, was evidence that he wasn 't taken for granted, and that he was appreciated. That is good.

I was 20 and struggling when this album came out and this song was pivotal in my life when I heard the line “ this is the time and life I am living and I’ll face each day with a smile”. And so lucky to see him sing it live in 2003 in Leicester - just amazing 🤩

I was in that crowd - 21 years old. I'd been supremely lucky to get hold of Forever Changes on CD in my teens, before I saw this performance. I couldn't believe I got to see this in retrospect, before Lee's death. Some of the crowd didn't get it, but you could tell a good number did, who knew about the music history. You couldn't have asked for better that day! - the sunshine, the Sunday evening vibe, the orchestra, it was beautiful. I knew I was seeing something special that day - this album was created for settings like this. RIP, all in Love. You created something that's still drawing new listeners. Magnificent then, and now.

Bloody hell. It's one thing to listen to this piece of magic from the album, and quite another to see him perform it live as a full living breathing manifestation of the lyrics. Genius. _For the time that I've been given's such a little while..._ What it must have been like to be on the front row and be hit with that wall of sound.

I couldn't imagine what it it would be like to create such beauty. I think it would itself kill most people. I luckily got to see him a few times in the early 90s an 00s. What delights me nearly as much as the music is he DID get to know in his lifetime how much the records were loved by subsequent generations. Must've been a huge thrill to him. RIP Arthur

You can see his genius in this performance. The album Forever Changes is an absolute classic--so far ahead of its time it really cannot be measured. It is sad the original band really did not tour in their prime. Thus, they were never promoted properly. They were far more popular at the time in the UK. Then after he was railroaded into prison on the bogus gun charge and sentenced under the horrendous 3 strikes policy to 12 years and served 5, it is gratifying that he reformed with some great musicians to do these tours in the early 2000s. What a blessing to have these preserved on KZfaq. So glad I discovered them. In the late 60s, I had discovered his music and was perfectly enthralled. He died too young of leukemia and his Obit ran in the NYTimes. Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix and many others were great admirers of his creative artistry. Easy to see why.

Love at Glastonbury this year is beyong outstanding, best festival footage I've ever seen.

Don't normally comment, but wonderful performance, brought tears to my eyes - So true to the Forever Changes album bringing back memories of listening to the album in a lonely bedsit in the early 70's and this track being played at Eel Pie Island, singing along with my mates (can't remember circumstances, but that moment never forgotten). Lucky enough to see him at Dunstable during his 1974 tour and again at Aylesbury in 2004. RIP Arthur

I went to Glastonbury every time it was on from 1987 to 1998, but there's no time since that I've wished that I could've been back there more than this. Arthur with the setting sun on his face, band, strings'n'brass balanced to perfection, amazing song from an amazing album. Oh, man. Just perfect.

I'd have given anything to have been there to see this. Absolutely amazing!

Masterful. Excellent. Shivers down the spine when I notice some of those fine musicians on brass & strings were probably not born when this song was first released & they were smiling while they played. And they played so proficiently. What an impressive performance. RIP Arthur....thanks.

Guess it was about 1968, I was 24 at the time, I bought "Forever Changes", played it until it packed up almost. Truly wonderful music and it still is and that's no nostalgia trip either.

The young blond violinist can hardly contain herself - all musicians recognize when a song comes together musically and she's definitely feeling the vibe. Love this song.

Really wanted to see this concert, but at the time I had 3 kids under the age of 10 and was living in NZ so the timing was just not right. My sister bought me a Love tee shirt to soften the blow!

Love should have been one of the biggest bands in the world. The members of the Doors all idolised them and even signed with Electra because Love were on the label. Forever Changes is one of the greatest albums of all time. Love, Da Capo and Four Sail were all superb albums as well.

I was in a group in the mid 60's called Forever Changes and even played a few of the Love tracks. Great days and a fantastic performance here by Mr Lee playing the Forever Changes album , with such a great band.

Got forever changes when it came out, had been living on Del Capo discovered on a beach in Mazalan from 2 valley surfers who had it on 8 track in the summer of love. Vinyl, Tape, CD, downloads, love pandora...got it all.

"Forever Changes" is the second greatest innovative rock album ever produced IMHO. The first? "Child Is Father To The Man" by the original BS& with Al Cooper and Steve Katz. These two albums pardon the pun..set the scene for the introduction of orchestral instruments being incorporated in rock music. The Chicago Transit Authority, later to be called Chicago then took it to another level, of course. Horns and strings are incredible when incorporated into rock music IMHO. Arthur RIP. You were a freaking genius.
