Straight forward and thorough review. I would've liked to see Evnovo/Artillery do three things with the X2: 1. Add gantry stiffeners to allow for higher accelerations all around. 2. Incorporate a linear advance option that you can tune via a built-in file. 3. Partnered with Fulament to add a removable print surface as a factory option, rather than the glass.

Thank you for the informative detail on this printer. I am really looking towards this printer and I have a couple of questions. 1st is the sizes: I'm looking to use this for printer 3d game boards like walls and floor tiles. Have u done so or will this printer be good for that. I also of course will do larger prints, but looking to see if I could both? 2nd I have seen other videos recommending to place supports on this do to the wobbling at full height, (however you printed that rocket and it looks great). Did you have wobbling issues or seen that? Thank you for your time.

A little late but I'll respond for others having the same question. I've had my x2 for 4 months now and I use it primarily for petg and tpu. Does an excellent job with both once you've tuned it to that specific roll. I use cura slicer and always start with the generic setting then adjust after a small test print. My only complaint is the nonremovable build plate. It needs to be thoroughly cleaned every few prints and it's just more annoying not being able to take it off for a good scrub.

Hi Bryan, Is there any difference between the X2 & the Genius? It looks like the X2 is now exactly the same as the Genius besides the format. Btw: the Genius has no problems with the USB stick. What is very easy to break is the BL sensor. Mine broke when i printed several parts at once. One parts came loose from the bed and the BL sensor hit that and broke. So be aware of that!

@@mactastic144 oh I'm sure there is, however if removing the original surface is such a pain then installing this would be problematic to begin with. That's not to say I'd not be put off from replacing the glass bed with the removable one. I do this as a matter of course on the printers I own. I ad a veery bad experience a few years ago with a glass bed shattering on me and I, personally, don't trust glass any more.

What do the S and Z commands signify when using M420? I thought they would have started using a heated aluminium plate instead of sticking the heater to the glass build plate, many people I know in the community have moddded their X1 with a plate so they can use alternative build surfaces, of course they could always place the new build surface on to the glass plate but from what I gather they prefer the standard aproach
@BV3D
@BV3D 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew! The S parameter enables or disables the use of the stored mesh. It's a Boolean value. So, 1 enables, 0 disables. The Z parameter is the fade height. The Marlin documentation says it means "Set Z fade height," but doesn't specify units. I assumed the units were layers, but it might be millimeters. As for the bed, maybe a Sidewinder X2 Pro would have an aluminum bed with a magnetic spring steel sheet? Up until Fulament sent the Fulabed upgrade to me, I was happy enough with the X1's bed. The heater-on-glass combination heats up really fast. I may pick up a Wham Bam system for the X2 in a few months and see how that performs. I realize the magnet and spring steel sheet are going to add thermal mass (and regular "Mass" mass) to the bed, so it'll heat slower and be heavier. That'll increase the heating time. But I love me a good spring steel sheet!

@@RyKnocks I decided to go with the Ender 3 S1 as my first printer. Was thinking about the SX2 for long time but what changed my mind is the amount of people using Ender devices - the community is bigger for sure and in my country there is official Creality reseller which makes it very easy to get spare parts etc. The bigger print volume is a nice thing for SX2 but at the same time you can build almost anything with smaller one but you need to split it into smaller parts.

I'm actually quite conflicted here. Your video shows fantastic print results with this printer. I'm curious why then this reviewer produced utter garbage on the very same printer - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7CKpNKkst7RqJ8.html. Did you have to tweak it off camera for an extended period or is this other reviewer just clueless? I personally think this printer is beyond ugly, but I really don't care if it prints well and is at least somewhat faster than my Ender 3. My first (and probably only) upgrade would be to remove the build plate and add something magnetic as I have not heard good things about the one it includes.
