Disagree. There's no way those are bat wings. That looks a lot more like fur. Plus, if it was wings, the only time you'd get anywhere near that overlapped look in bat wings is when the wings are folded, which is at odds with the way the leading edge is held out. Basically, this would be a wing simultaneously folded and splayed at the same time, which makes no sense. Not to mention the shape doesn't match either real bat wings or any simplified version I've ever seen drawn. There's a pretty strong tradition of how simple bat wings are drawn, and this is nowhere near that ballpark, so it just doesn't read as wings at all. It reads as fur, so I see a cat with a super luxurious ruff of fur, which makes that tuft on the forehead make sense, too. That said, the latter the gen, the more smoothed out some of the designs tend to be. I think that tends to remove some of the realism and they then don't read as much like real animals, which can make them feel a bit ambiguous. Like, I'm confident this is not a bat, but it doesn't really feel like a proper cat, either. It's like uncanny valley, but for cartoon animals. So I guess I'm a bit opinionated tonight.

I like voltorb and exeggcute too lol. Voltorb being a pokeball mimic is clever. Exeggcute has personality, with some of the eggs being cracked and smug and stuff. Honestly I like most pokemon now that I think about it.
