I think the slate and the changes were largely good. I don't love the new Pariah pack (especially the secondaries), but I'm fascinated to see where the game goes. Going back to a truly empty army list is something I hadn't done since the codex dropped, and boy was it a good time. Thank you both as always! Love this format!

Could someone offer a bit of insight into how Dark Angels went from bottom tier (42% win rate) to top dog with the Gladius detachment post date slate? Outside of the ICTF change (which seems like the biggest positive) the only things that got buffed were stat lines of the DWK and ICC. Both great buffs but certainly not +10% win rate meta-defining. Ironstorm was typically how DA was run and it got nerfed underground… so what else changed specifically with the data slate that is going to make DA one of the top comp. armies. Thanks!

Gladius has access to some very good units, and adds in the now even tankier Knights, Azreal, and Darkshroud

@@stevenburton7725 Gladius had access to all of that pre-slate though. Darkshround took a points increase and Azrael stayed exactly the same… so the change to the DWK profile is enough to go from 42%WR to 52%WR? That doesn’t check out for me, something is missing.

new knights are very very good, they do significantly more damage. ICC also got a really nice buff and now can go in impulsors. Additionally heroic intervention at 1 cp is huge for a judiciar + ICC. There isn't many units in the game that feel good about getting hit by that.

They don't play lists or factions that simply lose via stat checks to them and they have enough skill to maneuver the weaknesses of the list They're a very powerful army but at the top 1% of players they just exploit it and kill it

1:25:00 As someone who faces 2 top 1000 son players consistently. You also have to be able to recognize that a 1000 son player messed up, and that they actually know all of their rules. It can be exhausting to make sure they are tallying their cabal,cp, and sorcerer powers for 5 turns

For the sake of talking about codex space marines, dont mention the worst detachment in comparison to hyper specific divergent chapters who are doing well? Top players are going to switch to what wins easiest, some top mid and low players are going to play what they have. Maybe Talk about what could work for codex SM, please?

I feel like they're taking cull the horde too much into consideration. If it ends up being good for like 1 tournament everyone will just take 19 model squads.

The tournament companion fixed cull the horde so you still score even if they took understrength units.

@@davidjones4772 they fail to do a lot of the missions and interactions with the limited resources they have. If you are on a burden of trust, terraform or similar missions they can't afford to have units plonked on objectives especially after they start losing units. I would actually argue they are bottom tier due to new meta and mission play as they struggle to score well against a good opponent as their resource management is super fragile

on top of missions seemingly prefering MSU - the tank shock change is hugely impactful, as it was a huge tool for dreadknights with their str 14 hammers.

Question. Why does GW hate Tau players? They are just never really good. They might get a minute in the sunlight and immediately nerfed to the ground if so. Can I just get a solid upper tier Tau for maybe a whole edition?
