Yeah. And his answer to making that initial mistake was to make a string of them afterwards. Like wth? Just continue to play, don't blunder away a vulture, then an acv 5 second later, and soon after gift your tank, another scv and 2 marines. Great way to get back into the game. That silly mistake didn't technically cost him the game, he worked for it himself. Dude needs help, because he's just digging ditches to bury himself in.

CC first in TvT is a gamble build, he expected to see a geyser from his opponent.

It's not completely unreasonable because at that point of the game the terran would have either had a CC building at the natural, or taken gas already since delaying either means you're putting yourself behind for no reason. Typically, you would see the barracks too but his opponent purposely built it out of the sight and tucked in a corner as you could see. His opponent outplayed him so hard with a mindgame lmao

He went to get the high ground. High ground is extremely strong in brood war, you miss like 50% of your shots or something if you are on low ground. Orange knows high ground is a big deal, he brings the racks to scout.

Yes. It's not just position but also knowing the build.

There are layers of nuance here, I can name some of them: 1 - in TvT, building a Command Center first or before gas is damn-near cheese. Macro cheese. If it goes unpunished, it's a very big advantage. 2 - on a 4-player map, if you find a CC-first/early in the last position you scout, you don't have the appropriate time to change your build, to be more aggressive and punish it (which is considered the "right" response). This nears build-order-win territory if the two players are legit closely matched and the scout is significantly delayed. 3 - Artosis had a streak this day of scouting early CC builds last on 4-player maps in TvT & was already tilting. 4 - he scouted the location first, but missed that it was the right location and missed that it was a CC before gas. He then scouted all locations, saw nothing and went back to the first location, finding a finished CC, meaning it had been built early/first. *Queue 'Tosis rage, that sweet, sweet nectar for us Guys in Chat*

Building a command center first before much else means you can get more SCVs early which means more economy. If your opponent finds you pumping up your eco while having no attacking units then they can rip through your economy and you'll lose. If they don't discover you doing it in time, though, you will win. Sorry @@jacobunderwood4957 , I know you basically said all that, but I felt like your answer was speaking to a higher level of familiarity with Starcraft than the original commenter probably has.

In all three matchups if you don't scout the enemy there are countless builds that can easily take you off guard and kill you, maybe especially if you're terran (lings and zealots murder marines in the early game).

Ops I forgot you need to upgrade the siege tanks before you can siege them in SC1. I was like he is behind but not dead yet why didn't he take a defence place and try to continue the game. He still maybe could've hold if he didn't throw that vulture and the tank
