For the k1500: I'd make sure the clutch is working. A bad slave or master cyl or other clutch part could make it not go into gear...especially since it's all gears, not just one or 2...

I wonder if he pulled the shifter out while it was in gear (not in neutral) to refill the gear oil and thusly now he messed with the gears. Try placing the shifter back in and moving the shifter till you can find the gears or use a fat flat blade screwdriver. Also make sure it has gear oil in the trans once you’ve sorted the gear issue. If you pull the trans out, purchase a rear main seal for the motor.

With the RV sitting for so long, a trade was "Bound" to happen was it? I think you got a steal of a deal there. It's best to preserve as much of the original body panels as possible just for the graphics. It could benefit from a new set of whitewalls or white letter tires. Will it replace the '07? My former longtime neighbor and very good friend had a 95 Chevy 2500hd extended cab, gasser, stick shift. It was dark green with tan going around the bottom of the truck and tan interior. He special ordered the truck fully loaded from the factory with every single option you could get including the leather captains chairs. He originally bought the truck when he lived in NH then a couple years later moved down here to CT where he would become my neighbor. 20+ years later he had to sell the truck and move back up to NH. I’ve been looking for that truck for over 2 years now since he sold it and I have had no luck… but I will never stop searching!

My Ford ranger would do that replaced every part to it. Turns out it was a line that runs from the master cylinder to slave cylinder was dry rotted and getting air in it. I would bet yours has some dry rotted seals in the master.

I would say that was silly mate I would rather have a camper aka rv over a 4x4 any day

Nv3500 trans are fairly cheap used. Give that frame a real good look before consiseribg a trans swap. Could be somethibg simple like the clutch hydros or a bent shift fork

If its not going into any of the gears, even reverse I would suspect the syncros have left the chat. may be able to find a used or reman trans for cheap enough. Being a manual you could even tear into it yourself if your feeling brave. Better to take one of those apart instead of an automatic.

I'd start with the throw out bearing and slave cylinder definitely sounds like something is wrong with the hydraulics you should throw in a new clutch while you're at it

So if it’s not going into gear I’ve had issues with my NV3500s where when the slave cylinder got tired I couldn’t find or manage to get it in gear. Same thing when the master would bleed down. Awesome looking truck! Good luck!

There is a roll pin in the middle of the cup that the shifter sits in on the tranny, I’ve had them break before and did the same thing. Easy thing to check before replacing tranny.
