As an English man who's had at least 30 diesel cars and vans , when they have trouble starting like that its far easier just replacing all glow plugs . Obviously weather does make a difference .

In the UK the 3 Volvo's would have been scrapped years ago , generally you don't see cars over 20 years old. Here once cars are worth very little they just get junked .

As an English man an American saying good gas mileage from a 2.9L Auto it would be horrendous here . In Europe its impossible to buy any pickup that isn't diesel the last petrol pickups were Subaru , Nissan - Datsun & Peugeot in the 80s since the 80s all are diesel .

i wouldn't touch the use Chevy Colorado with a ten foot pole . It's 2.9 liter engine is under powered with the automatic transmission. . The black Chevy Silverado doesn't look too bad even if the A/C isn't working . It's typical of that vintage pickup that the air compressor may have bought the farm or it might be as simple as an O Ring or the free on is low All the truck need is a full maintenance check including the braking system and front suspension. also check out the rocker panels , cab corners and rear wheel wells .

Those government vehicles scare the crap out of me. They might have Lewisham miles on them but the running hours are insane. They are never shut off. I worked for a highway dept when a kid and no one ever turned the vehicle off.

I used to go to the state auction out by me plus my uncle worked for the state and was a top supervisor so his Ford pickup and Ford Taurus we're in great condition. The only bad thing is that they used to auction all the vehicles at once and that allows you to get a deal and eventually they smartened up and started to limit the amount of vehicles which got people to get out of control with bidding which turn everything into bidding wars which ruined everything. But you can get some really nice vehicles that been maintained.
