DAN REGION was a great announcer on AS THE WORLD TURNS letting him go was the start of a long down hill slide for AS THE WORLD TURNS. and also not getting to see closing credits go across the TV screen not seeing closing credits crawl across the screen was also the beginning of the long down hill slide for GUIDINGLIGHT.

I like this closing because of the trumpet coming in

Dan Region probably had to mention the preemption. But I can tell you from having dealt with him once that he's one heck of a nice guy. He let me use an article he wrote about his trip to Gettysburg in my classes and was very much interested in the fact that I teach history. I wish he'd gotten more announcing work after Procter & Gamble dismissed him from "ATWT."

Checking out the cast credits since there's a minister and wedding musicians am wondering who was getting married. I'm wagering that it was Lisa getting married since Grant Colman was in the credits. He had actually left the show in 1981, getting fed up with the drama of Lisa & Joyce butting heads over him (what can you expect with a handsome dude who's an attorney?) The last straw was when a partially reformed Joyce cooked up a scheme of having a terminal growth on her brain, causing him to propose to remarry her (most likely out of sympathy). Lisa, knowing that Joyce tended to be a schemer just like she was in the old days but with a neurotic, nutty twist, eventually ferreted out the truth - and I suspect Lisa still had the hots for Grant even though they divorced.
