With her relationship with Mariuli she also represents a struggle for her tribe's traditions and culture as well. While the Shudraqians very much fit into Vollachian ways, what Mariuli brought was also the intrusion of cultures from the rest of Vollachia specifically, and it is tragic that they almost follow Vincent to their destruction because of that culture. Vincent sacrificed them and Subaru saved them.

@@Travelling_Heart15 actually a good point tbh, play on the surreal out of place feelings a bit. I feel like it'll be good if they have a lot more scenes like early season 2 Satella out of nowhere, like from Subaru's point of view being swallowed and a confusing monologue, which I think was the first time the series did anything with the vibes the novels have in the shadow garden. It's basically a chance to finally get the creepiness of the shadow garden except that in the anime, it HAS to be more dramatic and then honestly might mean anime Satella's creepiness having more of an impact than the novels even. Anime onlys haven't seen as much of Satella so that season 2 moment seemed to take them by surprise more, but just imagine it: a chaos flame which we've been introduced to as this giant city embodying everything about Yorna, far FAR bigger than sanctuary and called a utopia by Subaru and then... Swallowed just like season 2 as Subaru can't even process it because of Satella controlling his mind. I think I've got it now: arcs 7-8 should actually take longer than 5-6 in the series, I've been thinking about whether it's really that terrible they're being combined in season 3 based on how half of season 1 managed to cover books 4 to half of 9 and so long as they up their game on highlighting the witch cult plus witch of envy, I feel like 35+ eps for two arcs there can be pulled off well. On the OTHER HAND: arc 7 will have so many places you could stop at without being too abrupt. And should really get the worldbuilding it deserves, so I'd worry about it being rushed just for all of the places they go. Can you tell I love arc 7 a lot lol.

⁠@@nijelmoreau9223really late reply but basically the LN adds an extra scene, i think its after capella fucks up subarus leg but i might be wrong. regulus is using the mirror to talk to someone, emilia sneaks into his rooms and uses it. it connects to al and she tells him to tell Subaru shes alright or something. sorry, not sure if thats correct but basically al had a mirror which is sus af. he could have gotten from previously being in the witch cult tho. or killing witch cultists.

​@@R3in_ChThey are both absolutely at the peak in their own sub-sub genre of Isekai, Re:Zero at subverting expectations and Mushoku Tensei basicaly created them. It's like most modern isekai copied only the wrong parts of Mushoku Tensei so the story feels fresh even if you saw a lot of modern isekai with similar concepts. And, like with Re:Zero, when you fall in love with the characters story absolutely becomes *peak* fiction.

@@needledealer9971i guess its down to personal preference, re zero just has higher highs and lower lows. also its way more psychological, tappei really did his research on psychological responses to certain stimuli and situations. for that, i think re zero has more “realistic” characters. also even tho other isekai took the wrong things from MT, MT still has them. im usual the type to ignore it unless it gets too much but unfortunately rudy is just like that way too much and the story is from his perspective way more than RZ is from subarus. i love subaru tho, his parts are the most engaging part of RZ. but i genuinely cannot get myself to like rudy. hes not even a controversial character, i really dont think his backstory or personality is that interesting. whats interesting is how a person like him interacts with the new worlds hes in, which is what made MT a good read for me
