Once I work for the Pokemon company and Nintendo, I plan to bring Ash and Pikachu back to the anime sometime after gen 10.

personally I cared more for Ash than Liko and Roy, nostalgia just make a character “fell older” and gone through more since we “grow up with them”. Wish Liko and Roy had some gym leaders or game character to draw from, a new cast of nobodies is kinda hard to care for.

I haven’t watched the new anime just because I lost the luster of watching it on that level. I been thinking of binging it. But from little I seen it beautiful and everything I heard it, it’s the best thing ever. I think that Ash could come back someday but not today, maybe for the 30 year anniversary. A TV movie sound good.

The 30th anniversary period would be a perfect time for Ash and Pikachu to make their first guest appearance. By then, if they keep to the typical schedule, it would mid to late in the run of the next gen series, Liko and Roy would also be strongly established. They could start gradually linking the universes now, though, and maybe tease us with guest shots from other characters first before Ash returns. I'd love to see it work out that way!

they could just mention ash in a news article or some add in pokemon horizon and acknowledge the fact that he still exists in that universe is more than enough to please old fans

Tbh I don’t see Liko and Roy continuing to gen 10 mainly because their main Pokémon are the Paldea starters and they won’t be relevant after gen 9. It also makes sense as we’ve seen the outrage that was caused when it was announced that Ash is retiring but it was the only natural reaction you could expect so the only way to prevent it from ever happening again is to reset the cast every more frequently.

Ash&Pikachu can appear after Ep.100 of HZ for a 2 or 4 parter arc. I don't expect before because he can overshadow Liko and Roy if he appears. I think before Ash's return we will see other characters from old anime like gym leaders, rivals or companions. If rumors are true some old characters will appear in SV DLCs and a BW game is coming. So, related characters can appear in the future.

If ash returns it could be well helping Roy and Lito in a big fight. Like you hear ta Pikachu thunder followed by destruction cut to a news cast of ash. He'd be ushering in the first league of his reign as champion. Could even have Roy wondering if that was who helped them...

I really like Pokemon Horizons. It's refreshing and great character personalities. 🤔Btw, i believe Ash will make a comeback during Area Zero arc. He will save the day just in time before Liko and Roy are attacked by ai Turo/Sada. *Great Music and Plot so far.

My guess is this is one of those “people hear what they want to hear scenarios”. A shame but little can be done. What is a shame though is the ratings of the show itself being down not just for lacking streaming services, but just in general because I’m my opinion, Horizons has a really strong start with interesting characters, great music, and great storytelling. There’s so much potential for something great and I wish for more people to at least check out the first 3 episode as they are all cohesive. If Ash's old companions can briefly return in new seasons, then there's no reason for Ash not to do the same.

I don't want to get my hopes up but there are absolutely no words I can use to describe how much I hope this will come to pass. I really think waiting long enough and till an impactful milestone will bring meaning to Ash's absence and return. That is, if this does happen. I really hope it does because I know a lot of fans want Ash to come back and I do, too honestly. I don't really see myself watching Pokémon Horizons once I can because it reminds me that Ash and Pikachu left the anime but maybe someday when it hurts less because I really don't want to ignore an entire show just because Ash and Pikachu aren't there anymore.

If Ash and Pikachu are to appear...it should be down in Area Zero as AI Robots in place of The Professors whom are there too as AI and help Liko, Roy, Penny, Nemona and Arven out of Area Zero after stopping AI Ash and AI Pikachu as well the Time Machine as requested. Maybe Liko goes back to the distant past or even far into the future in order to rescue Ash and Pikachu who are not actually dead(Possible DLC spoilers on The Professors' Fate) If they decide to kill him off in this timeline this way...what an emotional ride it'd be for all of us to see our Boy Ash in the form of a Robot because him and Pikachu were apart of The Research Team and were killed protecting Koraidon/Miraidon from their counterpart?!

Good lord. Even I say this is way too soon to be doing this. Look, Horizons may not be cracking 2 percent in the television ratings in Japan, but it wasn't like Ash's last few seasons were doing that much better. XY&Z was around low 3 percent, Sun and Moon was constantly in the twos, the Masters 8 arc was in the low 2s, and the last eleven episodes was between 1%-2%. Has Rica Matsumoto ever said anything about finishing us Satoshi's run? Whether it was her choice, or the choice of the studio? And has she said anything about wanting to come back? She's done the voice for 25 years. I think she's 54 now. If she's ready to be done with it, then I believe that we need to be accepting of her decision.

I mean thats like saying nintendo is done with mario or disney is done with mickey mouse when you take away an iconic character like ash ketchum it kinda doesn't give the right impression for those who have followed him for many years

As much as I like Ash, now that the series is about new protagonists and Ash is retired, he should stay retired. Let this stay its separate thing.

First of I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people out there who would agree with me that they don't want to pay for a streaming description who prices are going up buy a dollar each year.. And second of all the only Pokemon available on Netflix for example is the original series and the journeys series and a couple of movies an Ash Ketchum should make a comeback but it's just too early for that maybe we'll see him in episode arc where he helps the new protagonist giving them the courage he may make an appearance halfway through the Pokemon series or you could appear in the season finale we may never know but if Ash Ketchum is going to return the writer should take the opportunity to redeem themselves and give him the rightful send off he deserves instead of 11 pointless episodes..

i feel like for now the most likely ash return we get is a subtle reference. Maybe if hammerlocke is the “old castle” raihan could appear and make a comment comparing friede to a “a boy with a pikachu from pallet town”

I agree the only way it could possibly happen is a big anime anniversary occasion or just starring in separate canon movies. However and whenever our fav duo makes a comeback of some, I'm having a good time with the Volteccers right now so no rush. I miss them but wouldn't want the goodbye cheapened by an immediate return lol

Pokemon horizon has not created much impact outside Japan . Even though Pokemon horizon has a good storyline but without Ash Ketchum the story would be incomplete as he is the one and only hero who comes to help every single region from the beginning till galar region . So we can hope that he will surely come back to Pokemon series .

My theory the reason why they kept ash 10 is that if these new characters fail all they have to do is being him back so I'm hoping is that whether it be liko and Roy or new characters for generation 10 that ash will get a proper ending retire and get a happily ever after (married and kids)

The thing is they don’t need to make Ash the “protagonist” they can do it like how they did Valt aoi. Instead of him retiring he can just be a champion someone in the background. Not focused on entirely but he’s there.

Iv been reading articles that they said ash and Pikachu will be back not sure if they are gonna get their own anime again but I hope they do

1. I think the reason people are unable to let Ash go (no pun intended) is due to how badly Journeys was paced. I mean it's okay as a series but did any of us want that to be Ash's final series? I strongly feel DP was the best Pokemon had ever been (not a big XY fan) and that felt like a proper conclusion (if Ash had won the league and beat Cynthia). 2. I doubt Liko and Roy will be in the Gen 10 anime simply due to their main Pokemon. Their starters are Gen 9 Pokemon. I doubt these Pokemon are becoming nearly half as iconic as Pikachu to be carried to the next generation. 3. I feel Horizons is a test to see how a formula away from the regular Pokemon anime works. Hear me out, with Sun and Moon they tried how a non traditional Pokemon anime with Ash would work (and personally I loved SM). With Journeys they tried how putting the focus on a different main character (Goh) would work. While you may argue that May and Dawn were also kinda dual protagonists , they were always secondary or at best equals to Ash. Goh for the most part was written to kinda be the main character? If we are being honest? I mean Project Mew aired AFTER the finals of Ash's biggest tournament. We know how character arcs are usually placed in anime. When was the last time the main goal of a different protagonist aired AFTER Ash's main goal for the series? While Goh did grow on me with time, I feel this is what made most people hate Goh (the focus being too much on him over Ash, especially in what we now know is Ash's final series). Horizons is the next step in this experiment. To see how the anime does without Ash. I think if they aren't bringing Ash back as a main character, the Gen 10 protagonists might have a Pikachu or an Eevee or some other Pokemon that can be somewhat like a Mascot (please NOT Charizard, as much as I love Charizard, we don't need more of the dragon that is not a dragon). 4. I think the story could have continued with Ash being the world champion. Several anime have their MC as world champions and still continue the story. Including a villain/rival who has an OP legendary or something like that could keep them on equal footing as Ash.

If ash comes back, it’d be cool but I’d also like it if he wasn’t the main character. Maybe they could treat him more as they did with Cynthia in the gen 4-5 animes where she was a major player in the story but not the main focus. It would be awesome if they would also bring back some of Ash’s companions. I don’t want all of them, just maybe one or two. If I had to say which ones would come back (gonna limit myself to two), I’d probably choose Serena (obviously) and either Clemont (I love Clemont) or Brock.

Small pokemon theory on Liko's dad: Goh has the same eyelash pattern as Liko. Also, would it be possible extra time could have passed, and there could also be grandparents? Or the possibility of a character having a step dad seperate from their birth dad?

Tbh i think ash would be in a Boruto like situation. Not thats Ash would be Liko’s father (could be tbh). But that Ash would come back in some episodes to cheer them on sometime and here and there show his self for a couple of episodes.

Ashey-boy deserves his vacation. It’s way too early for his triumphant return. I’ll just enjoy Captain Pikachu and Liko until then (that is, if I can find a way to watch more episodes without the perils of websites riddled with strange pop-ups). Kingambit, you know what to do. I think Pokefans are just impatient. This is a new series with 11 episode out, we can't really compare it to Ash series. They're laying out the puzzle pieces and they can't put it together right now or else this wouldn't have longevity.

Since this series isn’t heavily focused on Pokémon leagues, I don’t think we’ll be seeing him anytime soon.however, I can see them incorporating him in a major climax as as ash has always been involved in a world threatening crisis

I think the creators just don’t like their fans being happy for multiple reasons not just ash leaving Spoiler alert 1. They made ash lose to Cameron the guy who didn’t even know the maximum number of Pokémon to use in a battle 2. They made goh catch all the galar starters without ash catching at least one 3. They made him bring the worst team to the fight with Tobias Heracross: decent but still lost quite a lot of times Torcoal: lost pretty much every battle in Hoenn Gible: I understand why he brought it but he should have replaced it with charizard or something Sceptile: Best choice but 2 good choices aren’t good enough Swellow: did good in hoenn but lost when it was at a disadvantage Pikachu: may have tied with latios but it’s defense sucks

I love Ash and all and I grew up with the kid, BW & XY. Stopped midway through Sun and Moon and Most of Journeys was skipped but Horizons is just something I have been dreaming about since I was a big pokemon fan of xy. Just a new journey with new characters and that's what the a pokemon journey is. Honestly, since this is my dream come true for the anime and I feel like a kid again than just a confert show, and If ash does come back i might just stop. Or if horizons gets cancelled and they bring back ash pikachu and team rocket I'll just stop and focus on my other animes shows instead and pokemon merch and games. :(

Just a thought but the significance of the Pokémon aim to be a Pokémon master could be shifted from ash leaving the anime itself to ash leaving the role as the protagonist.

I like, Pokémon Horizons, it's not as episodic, it has interesting new characters and a refreshing change up to the formula. And "the Captain" scenes instantly make me smile.

Ok, come on now. They cant just get rid of Ash like that. Lets not forget the OG narrator too. But if he's truly gone, here's some things we need to see: 1. Reuniting with Primape 2. Reuiniting with Gliscor 3. Ash getting Misty a new bike 4. Ash's 11th birthday P.S. New show is ok, but it is lacking I'm not sure if it's a modern storytelling issue or teething issues, but it's trying to coat tail on ash it's not working aswell as it should have, it's an ok anime with ok story but it's not Pokémon and nothing special

Honestly there are many thing Pokemon can do after ash became the champion.You can make it that he is not the strongest trainer cause he is only strongest in the 8 region.Also you can continue the journey with new things and new challange.Instead of Pokemon league.And with that they can bring old character and visit old places and have old pokemons.There’s lot of options.Like you can have a sec where all the evil team join forces also did team rocket orginasation fell cause I don’t think they did so Pokemon could do that.Somewhere Pokemon have to end so I would prefer ash growing up.Then you can make a hole entire new generation where it’s not gonna be the same thing or have any connection (I mean that’s what they are doing but still ash should have continued his journey.

I don't understand why they didn't continue with Ash & Pikachu while making Horizons the Spin-Off that it actually is and Ash & Pikachu are always equated with the Main Series and we grew up him and his increasing team of Pokemon throughout the different Regions. Honestly, the only way I can see Ash leaving being accepted is for a Pokemon Game to Exist that allows us to explore EVERY Region like Ash. That was Ash's appeal that he travelled through every Current Region Catching Pokemon Native to there. That and his 'Chosen One' status.
