I love when the adopted parents are cool with the birth parent coming along. I could imagine it's extremely hard to give away a part the love that you're adopted child has for you. You know it's like no she's my child I don't want to share her so it takes a big person to be willing and actually excited for their adopted child to meet the birth family.

What a remarkable and loving adoptive family she has, putting her longings before their fears. I have a feeling there is no danger of her slipping away from them because of this.

Its good to hear that things are going better and your keeping an open mind. Lots of natural families go through hard times but that what family is about.

Is there any more beautiful moment? This is so bittersweet at the same time... I can't help but wonder what the adoptive parents think of this kind of bond that they could never really have. It is such a beautiful but melancholy moment.

WM, i don't see anything disrespectful about it. It might be a little awkward, but i'm sure the daughter wanted it the video for the memory. The adoptive mom is just giving them their space while also keeping this precious memory by recording it.

I am sorry to hear that your daughter is having trouble with her birth family. I found my birth mother last year and that has not gone too well either but at least that chapter of my life is finished and I can finally move on. And as for the brother not seeing like he is happy...I'm sure he was, he just didn't want to show it. But I hope your daughter is doing well and congrats to her for finding her birth family

im adopted and my mother who i live with would be upset if she found out i wanted to meet my biological mother,brother and sister. i was given up at 2 weeks old but still want to meet my biological family bc its just i think about them everyday even though they did horrible stuff to my Dad,Nana and adoptive mother. irdk whether to ever try and meet them :"( on my mind everyday

I'm sorry but you're adoptive mom is very selfish if she feels that way. If I adopted a kid I would support my kid 100% if they were 18 and wanted to find their birth parents. Now of course you should make it clear to your adoptive mother that you love her very much and don't do anything to make it seem like she's in second place. That said however, it's extremely wrong of her to have an objection to you wanting to find birth parents.

It's a trailer park so of course he was smoking, of course she had a tattoo and of course the mom probably got pregnant at 14 or 15. They probably all have tattoos, all smoke and all drop out of high school.
