Hi Ashwin, I have a question for you regarding survival in deserts. I heard that bringing a camel with you on any adventure can get you out of various sticky situations. This is apparently especially so in deserts because camel corpses naturally float a few inches off of any surface covered in sand. As a result, you can surf camel corpses over sand dunes into the sunset. That being said, all the camels that I can order on Amazon are either 3 stars or are more than $150 and I'm a broke desert bedouin. Can you recommend a good camel substitute to surf over scintillating desert sands? A faithful and loving fan, Yusuf

Would it be possible to fight dehydration by eating habaneros ? Raising the body temperature enough so that the desert heat becomes cooler, and then converting it into Celsius ?

Those native cacti must have been awesome to see in person. There are only a few places in Canada where you can find native hardy cacti, it's nifty to see how abundant they are there. How long would you suggest spending at Joshua tree? Is the a day trip or is there too much to see for that?

Joshua Tree is a good weekend trip. You can hike around during the day and camp over night, climb some of the rock formations, but two days is probably good enough to take it all in.

I usually drink my clean drinking water after I've drank my 3-rounds of urine. It helps wash away the bad taste and bad breath for goodnight kisses to the wife and kids.
