Jimin is a multi- millionaire and his company is a multi billion dollar company......so yeah between his singing, dancing career which doesn't even count for him being paid by two luxury brands, plus being an ambassador of Samsung and other smaller brands through the past 10yrs. and lets not forget his modeling and magazines. Also, he has stock in his own company. Jimin graduated valedictorian and has a degree in business, he is extremely intelligent and has bought real estate in top places in S. K. In other words, you can't compare him to other kpop artists, the man is in a league of his own......the only solo Kpop artist to achieve #1 on the hot 100 billboard and he has broken multiple records and achievements all around the world!

Exposure is very important Just like Grammys. Nominated many times but no win. Being on that stage never the less gave them exposure to American people. A lot of people before Jimmy Fallon might not have ever heard of Bts. These shows might not make groups rich by themselves but putting yourself out there makes the difference. Bts is willing to do it. 💜😁👍

I love your videos. Thanks for the info. You may not know in the U.S. the rates set by the unions are minimum they can be paid. Huge stars that are in demand usually negotiate their rates and terms beyond the minimum. Talk shows love BTS because their viewership sky rockets. My guess is that they get paid higher than union rates. 💜

Great video, as usual. I wonder how much of the promo costs are shared by the management company or if they are all passed on to the artists. Imagine the bigger groups. By the time everybody takes a bite, each member is probably taking home less than minimum wage for a great deal of effort.

Suga made a comment during his interview with Jimin (Suchwita), that when they do their solo albums, they are responsible for everything to include their promos. Interesting enough, the NBA is sponsoring Suga’s world tour. But how much if any resources did Jimin receive vs. having to pay out of his own funds? Yet, Jimin mentioned that he had to get the directors approval on his video and wanted to film additional videos for his other songs, but he was told no.

@Bungluna It might be different for BTS as they are, well, BTS but generally, the management company and label will try to recover 100% of their cost. I am sure many artists negotiate once they get to a certain level of fame.

I’ve always been curious as to exactly when k-pop idols begin to actually make money (not just room and board.) What happens if they never debut?Also, is BTS the only group in kpop who was given stock in their company? Really appreciate your videos!

Much appreciation for the information. I had always been curious about the backup dancers salaries, how that works. I knew that the idols were not well paid but I'm still surprised at how low. I think young people long for fame at an unhealthy level, but I'm at a loss as to how to remedy

I had so many questions like these. Thank you for answering them! I would see an idol or group wearing a designer label and couldn’t figure out whether the brand paid the idol, or the idols bought the clothes! It makes a little more sense to me now. ty ty I’m ult Tomorrow x Together TXT all the way Thanks again.

It really depends on the contract. USUALLY, if someone is already a brand ambassador, their contract includes the celebrity wearing their clothes at no cost to either. However, there are also different types of endorsements (a.k.a. ambassador). some are actual endorsers and some are just commissioned per events or invited on select events.
@dejavu3553

They are usually going there to promote something, so it is an advertisement for them. Keep in mind that you usually have to pay to advertise and market your product rather than get paid for it. Also, in most cases, they are already going to the US for other activities, so their travel and wardrobe are not solely for that one appearance. US pay rates, too, are often a base or starting wage that can be negotiated higher if the demand is there.

As always another very good and informative video. I love your channel. 💜💜 Can you talk about estimated net worth of BTS members. For the past few years, the net worth videos all say the BTS members are worth 20-25 million each including the stocks received. I honestly don’t believe that number. With the money made since 2016, tours, salary, merchandise, endorsements, etc., I would think their net worth is double to triple what is being reported. Obviously they are not going to confirm or deny, but just like Forbes can estimate, I would love to hear better figures. Because honestly, if that is all they are worth after 10 years of working and earning billions/trillions for Bighit, they need to leave Bighit. I thought a rolling stone article said their base salary was 8 million a year since signing their last contract. That alone should exceed the 20-25 million net worth. Your thoughts?
@AsianEntertainmentandCulture
@AsianEntertainmentandCulture Жыл бұрын
thank you. i will do some research first. i'll see if i can dig deeper on how Forbes arrived at this number.
@nikonladyd4509
@nikonladyd4509 Жыл бұрын
@@AsianEntertainmentandCulture Thank you. I understand most of the entertainment companies in SK have an 80/20 split in favor of the company, but Bighit supposedly has a 50/50 split. I also recognize the band's share has to be split seven ways. But, with the insane amount of money that BTS generates, I would just think their net worth should be higher after working almost 10 years virtually non-stop. Their training debt/investment should have been paid off in 2015. Hobi bought his first million dollar property in 2016. So the members were getting paid somewhat of a decent amount back then.

Oh my goodness this is exactly what I thought too! I thought that those numbers ($20M) were too low for whatever they made for the company. It's no secret that *at least* 50% of Hybe's revenue comes from bts every year (or 100% before txt and becoming hybe labels). This means the total revenue from bts up until now (since debut to 2023) is prob more or less $3billion. Even assuming the company taking half, their personal tax taking away a huge chunk, and other expenses, I'd reckon their fortune to still be at least $100M each to make sense 🤷‍♀️ But then again I'm no business expert, so I'm also very curious. Anyways, if that $20M reported by forces is true, I'd want bts to leave Hybe just like you said. Edit: Idk if that number is old tho

The diplomatic status was given by SK Govt for a specific function and duration e.g. special envoy for youth in the UN conference on sustainable development and as special guests during Asia Pacific month upon Pres. Biden’s invitation to the White House. Their commercial activities are not covered by diplomatic privileges as they won’t be travelling with diplomatic passports under those circumstances.
