I had to replace the fuel pressure regulator on my C15 it was a 45 dollar part and took less then 10 mins of labor. Charging a 1000 bucks for that job on a Paccar blows my mind.

For those who don’t know with Kenworth and Peterbilt just be sure to change their steering wheel filter annually or every 100K same with coolant filter- they say every 50 with the crank case filter it used to be cheap but on the new trucks that’s almost 7 -$800 same with engine filter, but that’s expensive As far as the Bendix went to suggest disconnected the front sensor just be sure not to snap it may help or not

You'll get used to that following distance noise. After a while you'll tune it out just like you do with the reefer noise.

My carrier has the Peterbilt software. We couldn't turn it off but we were able to turn it from 2 seconds following distance down to one second following distance. So it beeps a lot less now.

Boy you're right about the windshield washer fluid and the Cascadia. I seen the water track on a Pete like yours yesterday. I was thinking man that would be nice for this one.

I’m a local driver and I’ve said they should put a “city mode” in these damn things!!!!! Or just dial that damn speaker down. Ridiculous…all day beep beep beep beep “. Shuuuuutttt. Uppp lol😂

We were able to use the Peterbilt software to turn it from two seconds following distance down to one second following distance before it beeps. It helped a lot.

Good videos - Tractor engine developers and engineers spent long exhausting hours creating the most fuel efficient power plant line up possible. Why? Because the customer says so. The profit margin is in fuel efficiency. Well then please tell me this. Why do the majority of CDL drivers have such aggressive driving habits? Jack rabbit starts and stops, hammer down overtaking of passenger vehicles and outdistancing and road-raging at speeds up to 83 mph! (observed). I mean, I drive four-wheeler CMV 100k mi + a year, and unless a Big Rig rig is running extra heavy, they leave me in the dust/weeds off the interstate acceleration entrance ramps. 70% of the time; GONE!! Where'd he go?! The trucking industry's goal is fuel efficiency??? CAN'T TELL!!! Lol! Just saying. Love the videos and the Pete.

The actual radar is not on your dash it is in the bumper still unplug the one on the bumper. You will have a warning light on your dash and you don’t have adaptive cruise control. Best thing I ever did.

The FedEx contractor I work for had a bunch of 579’s a few years ago. I’ve been driving 22 years and those were my favorite trucks ever. They were Cummins and the boss rebuilt them all in house once and then he’d run them until they needed a second rebuild. A few had over 2 million on them before he sent them to the boneyard. He started buying strictly Volvos. Volvos have their good points, but nothing rides like those 579s.

Push the cruise a couple of times, stop when you see the cruise. This will save you when the Rader malfunctions.

If you cover that bendix system radar you lose adaptive cruise control but you have regular cruise control meaning it won’t slow down when it senses a car you just have to hit the cruise again and select ok when it says no adaptive cruise control I’ve done that a lot with the Kenworth t680s I’ve driven.

Duck tape the speaker grill? Hit the button on the end of the shifter knob to lock "M" the gear in place. This prevents shifting to lower gear and higher rpm. But remember to disengauge when stopping.

It's not a normal speaker it's a circuit board speaker built into the instrument cluster.

Measure the resistance of the speaker with a multi meter or have an electrical guy do it for you. Wire in a resister with same value in place of the speaker.

It's a circuit board speaker. I have thought about wiring in a toggle. I can't completely disable it because of the low air warning system.

Both are great trucks. Just adjust the valves accordingly and oil changes ever 10k to 15k miles and you'll hit over 1 million.

@@AdrianRomeroJr yes just make sure you examine the valve cover gasket. Also some bolts have grommets, make sure they're not missing or you'll have valve cover oil leaks.

Try puncturing the speaker, its not the same as removal, because as you say its looped in. Puncturing a speaker diaphragm doesn't disrupt the electrical aspect...normally, but should at the very least lower volume.

I can't disable the speaker. I have to have it it's part of the low air pressure warning system. It's not a normal speaker it's a circuit board speaker.
