ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT US

It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Wow, Swami Sarvapriyananda, really wonderful to listen to your talks. Just simply feel good . Your explanation, your voice all very soothing for my soul. I must come to see you one day, oh just to see you in person not coming to waste your time asking silly questions. Just to be in your presence I believe will do me a lot of good no talking necessary. If I can come before I die I am in my late 60s.

I was especially fascinated by the question and the answer given to it by Swamiji towards the end. It's about the manifest and the unmanifest. Dr David Bohm, who worked with Einstein for decades and who was a friend of J Krishnamurti, has put forward a hypothesis which deals with the "explicate order" (manifest world), "implicate order", "super implicate order" and the "holomovement". The "holomovement" corresponds to the unmanifest. Two of his best books are: 1. Wholeness and the Implicate Order and 2. Science, Order and Creativity (coauthored with David Peat).

Swami Vivekananda used to say:- "Knowledge of the Absolute depends upon no book, nor upon anything; it is absolute in itself. No amount of study will give this knowledge; is not theory, it is realization. Cleanse the dust from the mirror, purify your own mind, and in a flash you know that you are Brahman." "The pure heart is the best mirror for the reflection of truth, so all these disciplines are for the purification of the heart. And as soon as it is pure, all truths flash upon it in a minute; all truth in the universe will manifest in your heart, if you are sufficiently pure." “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” This sentence alone would save mankind, if all books and prophets were lost. This purity of heart will bring the vision of God. It is the theme of the whole music of this universe. In purity is no bondage. Remove the veils of ignorance by purity; then we manifest ourselves as we really are and know that we were never in bondage. The seeing of 'many' is the great sin of all the world. See all as Self and love all; let all idea of separateness go."

"seeing of 'many' is the great sin of all the world" that is beautiful Panda, but why would Brahman, which is perfect and complete at any given time, started seeing at all? He/She/It developed a need? the need for speed?

That is one of the oldest queries of man, why this duality developed? Why Brahman forgot it's nirguna nature ? Revered swami sarvapriyananda ji answered it somewhere. Here comes the Maya or the Lila aspect of the divine. Can listen to ' samsara and Moksha' by swami, published on 12 Feb '17.

@@calotcha108 what you are saying is the sankhya approach, which is half way truth. If you investigate deeper, you will find that matter has no independent existence. Matter, hence universe is experienced only in consciousness. Consciousness is more fundamental in nature than matter, space and time...Which appear and disappear in consciousness. Take dream example to understand.
@calotcha108
@calotcha108 5 жыл бұрын
@@familyghalsasi5251 I agree that matter has no independent existence. However, i was not referring to the physical person but to the entity of the person. *_I am one with the universe, this is a truth_* because there truly is no separation but in our perception. Now, depending on what we're trying to express, or how we're looking at what we're saying, we may express these things differently, and that is all fine. So, one could say, _'I am in the universe'_ which in itself is a projection of one's own creation. One could also say that _' the universe is in me',_ which in this case will be a reflection of what one sees are part of oneself.

It is a matter of zoom isn't it. The more you zoom into what there is, the more the connections are obscured by detail. The more you zoom out, the boundaries between this and that fade. But... even this zoom analogy is imperfect... zooming in and zooming out are indistinguishable... the more you zoom in, you realize that you actually are zooming out, and the other way around...

Swami says at 5.33 “when you become aware of awareness” ( though he immediately says “ it is only a manner of speaking” ) Swami at this moment “ I awareness, am aware of being aware! “. Awareness is identified by itself as both subject and object. I am that!! that is aware of itself. And that knowing is reflected and illuminated in the mind consciousness!!!! An explosion a kilometre away can be heard at different metres by individual beings. And it is true the explosion is heard in awareness, but it can be felt and heard in the body and mind, consciousness made manifest as matter. Also it is possible that a being who is deaf will be ignorant of the explosion, so this shows that the mind and senses are limited. That limitation is known in awareness, “I am awareness “ knowing I am a being that is deaf.

@@prakxyz Yes, and I remember reading somewhere years ago, that one of the kings in India said exactly the same to Buddha, and the reply from the awaken one was" yes you are right, but the issue in the world is the imbalance between desire and detachment. I do believe that most people are suffering from attachment which result in their misery, and I also believe that majority of people will not become a monk." Which means that there will never be enough people detach enough form the business of the world to result in what you're concern of, and the situation in the present beginingless time is self evident.

Actually he / Vedanta only described the phenomenon, not the inner workings, as to why would " Maya appear or emerge periodically and disappear within consciousness," the reason behind the phenomenon, he only said "the universe lies dormant within Brahman/conscious" , well, what was the cause or force which brought Maya out of the dormancy? Brahman didn't do it.....or did he/she/it? Sarvapriyananda didn't answer the question , only describe the phenomenon, as in-- after the rain, rainbow appears. ok, thumbs up, good observation, but how? Brahman is PERFECTLY CONTENT, COMPLETE, there shouldn't be any force or need to kick start the emergence ! ! !

@@markcranberri6618 "universe/maya appears and disappears in consciousness"? that is exactly Sarvapriyananda's words, in this talk, near the end. So obviously Maya arise form mind and mind arise form Brahman, right? till this point its all good. MY question is what cause mind (which resulted in Maya) to be rising from Brahman in the first place????? Brahman doesn't need all this shit!!! Brahman is perfect everything, no any need for ANY THING, rising or vanishing, what for????Brahman is PERFECTION, non-dual, no up, down, in ,out here, there, need this,need that!!! arise this, vanishes that........... Nooooooo. They will only tell you it JUST happened!!!!!!!!l like the freaking rainbow in the sky!!!!! Meaning they don't freaking know!!!!! It JUST happen that way, universe just rise from Big B, yes it just happened that way...like-u will go to heaven and be with16 virgins.... HOW? it will just happen...have faith, love GOD, it will just happen!!!

aham is the consciousness absolute. ahamkaar is when a body-mind identifies with a slice of it. om is the absolute word. omkaar is when a body-mind gives a voice to it.
