I was thankful to have a team with Mum. It was vital. No one had any advice from the medical field back then. I was the main caregiver, lived with Mum- my brother who lived 18 hours away took care of finances, my intown brother helped when I needed help to move her etc. And I had a dear friend that stayed to give me 4 hour breaks when needed. and I learned that Hospice gave 5 day respite in the wonderful hospice home. It was still hard but would have been impossible without our team and God's strength and wisdom. This has been a great episode to verify that I made pretty good decisions over 10 years ago when I had no idea what I was doing. Love listening to Teepa and recommend her often. Her knowledge is amazing. Thank you for having her as a guest.

I have a new 66-year-old client who has zero communication skills (diagnosed with FTD approximately 7 years ago). She will not allow any of her home health care workers help her toilet or get cleaned up, not even her husband. I've tried all the techniques I've learned from you and others, but no luck. Any suggestions?. Thank you so much for all your videos, books, etc!

My 89 year old spouse is a retired Board Certified Internist who is active and capable but occasional getting lost and showing many other signs of dementia. I’m 85, and not having similar other than missing appointments and names! When I asked him if I could arrange for mental status evaluations for both of us so we can start medication if necessary, he adamantly denied he had these many such incidents and refused to get evaluated. What should I do?
