I hesitate to correct Abhijeet, but in this case I must: At 15.13 Abhijeet equates Blood "boiling" with evaporative boiling such as heated water for example. Blood boiling does not happen owing to temperature increase. Below a certain ambient pressure the dissolved gases in blood, nitrogen, mostly (which is 80% of our atmosphere) begin to bubble out of the blood. This process resembles the boiling of water which which is why the term boiling is loosely used for it. This phenomenon is often encountered by scuba divers surfacing rapidly after a dive. Aircraft cabins are pressurized to avert breathing difficulties above 10,000 feet altitude which can starve passengers of oxygen and induce a coma in a relatively short period. This is the reason why if sudden decompression occurs in an airliner oxygen masks automatically deploy.
@arnavdutta44852 жыл бұрын
Boiling in the vernacular term is related to “being hot” but scientifically it’s the point when the pressure exerted by the surroundings on a liquid is equal to the pressure applied by the molecules to break apart at this point a latent heat applied to the liquid will make it “boil” or change state to a gas. Even at one atmospheric pressure elements like nitrogen and oxygen boil at very cold temperatures. So technically your blood will boil but you won’t feel hot or your skin won’t burn.

Another point: Abhijeet seems to suggest that the oil pipes need to be pressurized in order to prevent them from boiling! Not at all. They need to be pressurized in order to keep the viscous oil moving through the pipeline, even assuming the terrain is level. If the terrain is not level, the oil needs to "climb" wherever there are upward gradients. It cannot do so by itself (only liquid helium does it under certain conditions, but that's a lesson for another day). Hence pumps are used to push the oil up the hill so to say. Given the cold ambient temperatures in Afghanistan, they may even have to heat the oil - in order to lower its viscosity - and pump it up the slopes and hills. They do this in the Alaskan pipeline.

Ability to “hear” thousands of miles away sounds cool but may not be a very useful feature because unlike radar waves which are electromagnetic waves and travel at the speed of light. Sound waves are longitudinal waves and travel at a very low speed (330 m/sec in air and 1500 m/sec so about 1mile/sec in sea water. So even if your sonar mics can pick up the sound 2000 miles away , it will take 35 mins to come to you and the information would be stale.

Unlikely since Subs are rather slow max 30-35 knots. The AI could predict speed & location especially with satellite & other modes of detection collected
@arnavdutta44852 жыл бұрын
@@112deeps if satellites could detect submarines below the surface , submarines would’ve already been obsolete. With a speed of 30-35 knots and 180 degrees to move from the coast it’s it’s a sector of 170- 190 sqKm where the sub can be. AI can learn from previous sub behavior and may be reduce it to some degree but with a continuous delay of 30 -35 mins it won’t be able to track it with the level of precision required by hunter killers. That’s why systems like SOSUS were installed where the hydrophones are spread across the ocean and the sounds caught are electronically sent back.
@satyaprakashjoshi18372 жыл бұрын
The very fact that submarines move dead slow, a delay of 35min is almost real-time. Say with a CEP of 30km, sounds quite practical to me.
@arnavdutta44852 жыл бұрын
@@satyaprakashjoshi1837 what will you do with that info ? Claim that your experiment results are the best ? You need to send a torpedo or a hunter killer towards the submarine that you detected and the weapons that the hunter killer fires will have a CEP of their own. Also how would a CEP of 30 KM be acceptable ? There may be friendlies and merchant vessels in that zone that may be hit with such a huge error probable.
@satyaprakashjoshi18372 жыл бұрын
@@arnavdutta4485 What you would do with that info? seriously? I recommend you read about the Battle of Midway (WWII). Secondly, You are confusing detection with interception. Also, give a read on how submarine interception (or any kind of interception for that matter) works. I mentioned 30km CEP for first-contact-detection (not final interception) which is quite impeccable at "2000 miles" (given AIM's claim is right, which I have no reason to doubt considering the electronic sophistication west has achieved). P.S. I am no expert on this subject and my views are based on general knowledge, maybe AIM could explain/corroborate this information in detail. (#PGurus #AskAbhijit).

Regards to Abhijit. The American adventure of the Royal Australian Navy will be salty, both for public finances and for Australian sovereignty. The US-Australia submarine project has feasibility issues. First financially: a Virginia-class nuclear submarine costs three billion euros each. How could the Australians assemble them at home, since they have no control over the nuclear industry? The assembly, therefore, can only be done in the United States and with inacceptable delay, since the American yards are saturated with orders until 2040.

Correction (AIM comment on why aeroplanes are pressurised)* Commercial aeroplanes are pressurised because with decreasing pressures the ability of gases to dissolve in a solvent reduces, this causes a low level of O2 in blood. That is why you feel out of breath at higher altitudes. Secondly, some blood vessels may rupture due to increasing pressure gradient. Theoretically, blood boiling may only be relevant for fighter jets or space station as they operate at extremely high altitudes. But blood inside a human body introduces other parameters, so I'm not even sure if it will boil in the case of fighter planes, but in the case of the space station, it certainly will.

@@PGurus1 A Google search Intel's total water consumption in 2015 was about 9Bn gallons for the year. This is in the region of 100,000 cum / day. Many( probably more than a dozen) paper mills in India consume more water than that. I do not know the specifics of Intel's requirements but water availability could be an issue only if they wanted to build in a water scarce city like Bangalore or Hyderabad. Similarly, thousands of process plants in India generate their own power. I have personally supervised the constriction of a few power plants ( I am not a power plant specialist but my company has process plants and power plants are part of our plants) and there is an approval process, mainly for environmental reason, but it is not more difficult than in Europe or China . So, I do not buy this claim about Intel not investing in India because there was opposition to building a captive power plant

Both will do just fine at the helm of affairs . Mr Modi keeps boasting about 1 surgical strike n that hasn’t stopped Pakistanis proxy war , it’s time we take the fight to them not b responsive or defensive in nature. I just wanted Modi to b in power to keep congress out ,but it’s getting harder to defend the Indian govt in the public sphere with my peers, for eg I can defend the policy of caa n art 370 with full zeal but there is no progress with regards to those policies ,it’s a sham to fool nationalists n Hindus . BJP doesn’t have the political will to commit to its own reforms , it’s policy is status quo ie stalemate , it won’t let the state fall or progress.
