Asking Harvard Students How They Got Into Harvard | GPA, SAT/ACT, Clubs, etc

Hey guys! Today, I went to Harvard and asked Harvard students how they got into Harvard. We talk about their GPA, SAT, ACT's, extracurriculars and a lot more! We also managed to interview a Harvard student-athlete and learn about his experience with admissions. The college admissions process is something that is hard to navigate, so I hope this provides you guys with good college insight that can help your experience!
If you're new to the channel, I'm Ryan and I'm a sophomore at NYU studying media, culture, and communication. I make videos every week about college in NYC, vlogs, and whatever else. I'm still learning about what kind of videos I want to create, but I hope you guys enjoy :)
This interview style is something new that I brought to the channel so if you like these kinds of videos let me know and feel free to give me any ideas of what you would want to watch! I like interviewing people because it is really cool to learn about everyone's story and share their experiences.

I doubt he is telling the truth though, at least not the whole truth. His case doesn't make sense. Harvard is not that desperate for a second tier unproven footballer with mediocre grades just because he did well in tryout. Coach's power to recommend players is literally worth gold. It usually needs a few more string pulled.

When applying, do you send an extracurricular list separately from essays? Or do you only have the essays to talk about the max extracurricular stuff as you can? Also, can you write more than one essay for Harvard? If so, how many?

You send the list separately from the essays; however, some colleges have essays where you hone in on one and talk about it. Harvard requires a common application essay, which is 650 words, and 5 supplemental essays with a 200 word maximum.

I appreciate the video. But since admmission is decided by admission committee, maybe it is up to them, instead of the student , to actually say how these people get in? Too much shenanigan going on these days.

AP/Honor/accelerated/etc classes can have higher GPA scaling at most high schools (i.e. a normal class at a school can count an A+ as a 4.0, but an honors class can count A+ as 5.0)
