At 5 mins & 13 secs, what dorm room in Orchard is this? What direction is the window facing? What is the road below the window? After you moved your bed away from the window, does it actually help reduce the light shining at you? You would still be looking directly out the window & the bright sunlight would still be coming in, no?

This video is good. However, NYU does not have a good university environment because it does not have a campus. NYU is just many buildings dispersed in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I had the oportunity of being at NYU and Stony Brook University (SBU) and the environment at SBU was better than NYU. However, many people like NYU because it has a higher rank than SBU.

How do you get a 1110 on the SAT going to NYU???
@linaaveya90Ай бұрын
NYU didn't look at test scores for 2 years (post-covid) so she probably didn't submit her scores. but also, even if you are in the lower percentile of standardized testing scores, so long as other parts of your application are strong, your chances are pretty much equal. as long as your parents have money to throw around, you'll get into whatever school you want. otherwise you're shit out of luck.
@chococripta922420 күн бұрын
@@linaaveya90 you know if nyu is still test opcional?
@linaaveya9019 күн бұрын
@@chococripta9224 i don't think it is test optional anymore but i could be wrong. google it and check the school policy based on which undergraduate school you want to apply to (e.g. CAS vs Tandon, etc.). but also standardized test scores don't matter that much as long as the rest of your application is good. I had a 31 on the ACT but they took me because I also had a 4.0 GPA. so do with that what you will. I also didn't really have a LOT of extracurriculars I just had LONGEVITY when it came to the few I had.

I dated a girl 10-12 years ago who went to NYU and majored in Music and Psychology wanting to be a music journalist. She then got her masters in Public Communications at Fordham. She eventually gave up on that when she couldn’t make a living and became a high school chemistry teacher. She now has $150k in student loans. _PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR MAJOR CAREFULLY_

Many of them are probably ED as their stats are so mediocre
@lxxy053 ай бұрын
what does ED mean?
@josuemartinezz2 ай бұрын
@@lxxy05early decision
@noah_mantel2 ай бұрын
@@lxxy05 theyre probably referring to Early Decision. Basically instead of applying regularly (this year the deadline was on January 5h), you can apply to ONE college via ED (for NYU it was Novemeber 15th i think). They let you know whether you got in or not by Mid-December so if you get rejected, you still have enough time to apply for other colleges. IF you get in however, you HAVE to go, like by applying via ED, youre committing to go to that school, so be sure that its actually the school you really really wanna go to. Theres also this unspoken rule where nobody reeeally knows whether its true or not, that colleges appreciate you applying early and committing to them, therefore being more likely to get accepted, which is what the person above was referring to. But take that with a grain of salt.

I just got accepted into NYU SPS with ED2. I’ll list out some stats as well. GPA: 3.6 (i have 4 C+) SAT: not taken English exam(for international students): Duolingo english exam 155 Extra curriculars: Fencing athlete & coach: g3~g12 (Few regional gold medals) Alpine skiing athlete & coach: g1~g12 (Few regional gold medals) School varsity ski team captain(since g10) (And 5 medals with them) Overall, my grades are horrible but I got in due to my extracurriculars. Good luck and hope to see you guys at NYU.

you'll never ever get there because you're doubting yourself. you're an entitled person. an entitled person is not just a person who feels more superior to others. but that others are more superior than them and therefore deserve to be treated differently. If you want life to take you seriously. You take life seriously. Good day

Hi NYU is my dream school, and I’d love nothing more than to be there. The only problem is, my gpa is a lot lower than the accepted standard due to some personal issues I had (even though I had a massive upward trend). However my SAT and ACT are perfect and I have strong extracurriculars. Do u think NYU would be willing to look past my grades if every other aspect of my application is very strong?
@nycyg4 ай бұрын
Yes! On the Common App, they will ask you if you would like to explain any circumstances that has had an impact on your grades or academic performance (this answer will go to all of the schools that you will apply to on the Common App). Use that space to explain your situation. If you have strong SAT or ACT scores, I highly recommend you to report them because it will show NYU that even though your GPA has taken a dip, you are still college-ready and a viable candidate for NYU admission. SAT/ACT scores can help you stand out in the pool. Make sure you have great recommendation letters, extracurricular and a strong essay (very important!!). Good luck!
