Hey what's up guys - Today, I asked NYU Students how they got into NYU. We find out what their GPA, SAT/ACT, extracurriculars are. Also, we dive into why they think they got into NYU and any advice they would give for prospective students and for students at NYU. We interviewed students in many different majors and schools at NYU so hopefully you resonate with one or many of them. I hope this provides you with good college insight and hopefully this can help you with your applications or help you in some other form!
If you're new to the channel, I’m Ryan and I'm a sophomore at NYU studying media, culture, and communications. I will be making new videos every week about college in the city, vlogs, gym, soccer, and whatever else. I hope you guys enjoy :)

NYU is soo hard to get in now, 4% for CAS and Stern... overall 8%.Strong GPA and extracurricular will increase chances.

I started a digital marketing agency, an online magazine about finance, also had 2 internships at big business corporations and i did speed ice skating for 6 years. Do you think these extracurriculars are enough to be listed for NYU?

How do you get a 1110 on the SAT going to NYU???

NYU didn't look at test scores for 2 years (post-covid) so she probably didn't submit her scores. but also, even if you are in the lower percentile of standardized testing scores, so long as other parts of your application are strong, your chances are pretty much equal. as long as your parents have money to throw around, you'll get into whatever school you want. otherwise you're shit out of luck.

@@chococripta9224 i don't think it is test optional anymore but i could be wrong. google it and check the school policy based on which undergraduate school you want to apply to (e.g. CAS vs Tandon, etc.). but also standardized test scores don't matter that much as long as the rest of your application is good. I had a 31 on the ACT but they took me because I also had a 4.0 GPA. so do with that what you will. I also didn't really have a LOT of extracurriculars I just had LONGEVITY when it came to the few I had.
