@@mykulpierce Which is funny that Blizzard got to this point since there's been countless of MMOs that died or are dying for this exact reason. It really shows that Blizzard has been out of touch with the entire MMO market. They literally had to just look at any top 10 mmo list and one of the year prior to that and ask themselves what causes that certain MMO to drop from that list. 9/10 times its unnecessary grind, p2w shops, or making it so easy to catch up for new players that the best way to play the game is to just not play it and wait for idiots to spend 20 hours of their day grinding every so you can get it for free a month later. And the worst one of all is changing the difficulty of dungeons for newer players so it becomes more brain dead and unfun for experienced players to even bother helping out newer players

It's crazy how they use it as an excuse. Most digital agencies and companies that deal with digital products actually notified an improvement in work quality and velocity (how much work devs can produce in a given timeframe). It's not like they are producing physical products, there are ways of working online, collaborating and brainstorming. I've been working remotely since march last year and it's all good - not planning on going back to the office any soon.

Working from home is fantastic as a software developer. You can set up your own space, work in your own time, and you don't have people walking by constantly pestering you. In addition, its easier to get better setups at home, when we remote last March I was finally able to go from a laptop and a single monitor to a full 3 monitor setup. Working from home is not an excuse if you're an even semi-competent developer.

Quitting wow is like leaving a toxic relationship: it's hard because of all the time and effort, and how comfortable it was. But in the end, it is so much more healthy to end it, and look to the future. I think it's absolutely valid to be sad, or upset, or cry about this. Even in Retail i was collecting mounts, doing Mythic+, farming old Raids, getting transmog and especially those juicy druid forms and leveling the allied races for their set+mount theres lots of things in the game to do, maybe not for current expansion but outside of that is lots to do. its 1 thing if asmongold who has almost every mount, did every raid tier, owns a collection of chars and transmog etc say the game is boring but 95% of all other have none of that

@@archnemesis0513 So true. After BC the lore started to lose the plot too, and they just kept squandering the lore more and more over time. The details of this situation are especially damning though. I mean an employee committed suicide after a truly horrific situation of physical sexual exploitation by her boss and sexual abuse from a large number of her male coworkers. They shared photos of her naked in public at a holiday party and faced no consequences. Physical sexual harassment (groping, menacing advances, jabbing) seems to be happening on a mass scale too. Most companies will never have a situation like that. There are good people there too, but I really wonder which group is larger and what the exact proportions of this are.

Actually i did always enjoy Preach's WoW content. But in the last few years, i realized how i watched him less and less, but it wasn't because i didn't like his channel anymore! The only reason was, that i didn't want to play WoW anymore and as such, didn't want to watch content about it. Looking forward to your new projects and ideas! Will definitely check it out.

I've been out of WoW for a couple of years now but I played for over 10 years and throughout that time Preach was one of my first go to's for hunter class videos, one of the best. It makes me so sad to hear the pain and the passion in his voice, it's clear that enough is enough, it's clear that Blizz should be ashamed of how they have let a once great game die. And that's why I stopped playing, at the end of the day it's a game, it should be enjoyable and if it isn't there is no point in playing.

"Oh, new patch, time to vendor all this gear I farmed, because there's literally no attachment to it, and it's just a reskinned model of 1 out of 4 different gear pieces they made for the whole xpac." They're making the time investment require more, and more to do just simple normal raid runs, while also devaluing EVERYTHING you get out of it. It's so fuckin bad, that trash has to drop COSMETIC BoEs. I'm so fuckin tired of this shit, and to top it off, instead of working on this game I pay pretty big bucks for, they're too busy getting plastered and harrasing chicks at work. I thought WoD was going to be the largest shit they could have taken on my pillow, but then I resubbed for SL's, the last patch of BFA, only to see the train wreak never ended, it's still derailing.

I agree with you except for the fact that you're paying big bucks for the game. The expacs are no more cost than a regular new game, and the sub is 15 a month. That's not big bucks. Unless you're buying 5 tokens a week.
@budsvan12
@budsvan12 2 жыл бұрын
@@codyrockwood15 Okay, what's WoW's lifetime? What's your time played on your main? Do some math, get back to me how much you've dumped over the years into this game. Include the xpacs, account for days you paid for time, but couldn't play the game. Account for all of the money Blizzard milks out of a single individual and tell me what they've done to show an investment into their game, company, and employees, with the years of sub and xpac money. Tell me how much time you played WoD and tell me it was better than The Witcher 3, or GTAV. Tell me an expac is worth as much as a whole new game, when they've been reusing assets from the OG blizz team? It's big bucks, if you understand the realm it exist in. I think you're mistaken and just assumed it wasn't "big bucks" because you didn't care to consider every good, and terrible thing, you paid money and time for.

@@budsvan12 I mean, yew, blizz isn't up to snuff compared to what they have been. But they're still the best game out there. I've played since 2007. And I'd I had a problem with all the money I've sunk into the game, then I wouldn't stopped a long time ago. Don't get me wrong, I understand completely where you're coming from. And yes, blizzard has alot of making up to do with their customers. Especially ones that have stuck it out through thick thick then. But the game is still pretty much the best out there. And certainly the best in its genre. Activision getting involved was the WORST thing that could happen to wow. And I was screaming that from day one. I still believe that to be true.
@budsvan12
@budsvan12 2 жыл бұрын
@@codyrockwood15 I just think you underestimate what big bucks can look like in gaming, they're the "best in the genera" because they used to invest into it, what's the state and stats of modern Blizzard? I respect your opinion, and I'm sure you've enjoyed the investment you put into the game, but for me man, them making progress worthless, xpacs a "season pass" like adventure, and just shitting out the most blatant money grabbing they can makes it hard for me to understand how you're content investing all the time and money into a company that no longer feels the need to impress us anymore. They won't hold the monikers you referenced for long, and as many have said. WoW is the biggest WoW killer on the market.

@@budsvan12 so I did the math, and over the years my sub cost has come to around almost $3,000. So I was wrong. You're right, that is big money going into a game that doesn't proportionatly return the investment back Into the game anymore. I just hope they pull their head out kf there ass, and that these new announced changes are actually the start of them on the road to redemption.

I played WOW for 1000s of hours, back in the time when you had to work to get a dungeon done. You needed to whisper a team together, all travel to that place, and then do it. When that changed to 'you can do it while never leaving the capitol' and 'you can do it with anyone not even on your server' the whole mechanic of getting to know people, making friends, being in a guild, collapsed. It was not fun anymore. Now I only regret pouring so much time into it.

Sad to see Preach leaving but given the recent direction of WoW it kind of felt like writing on the wall. Systems on top of Systems and a convoluted mess of retconned lore, unwillingness to listen to the community and it's amazing content creators like Preach himself. The game is a shadow of it's former glory. Well I hope Preach finds his way over to Final Fantasy.

That was one of the biggest reasons I quit BFA. My guild would work our asses off, running the same bosses to the point where you just wanted to cry from the wipes to get the absolute best gear. Then a few weeks after you'd be able to just go buy armor of the same quality. Like why the hell did I waste all of this time just to get it a few weeks earlier than the normies who just waited and got it handed to them. Also, the "we had to work from home" crap is just an excuse. It really is. I'm a software engineer, I write code for space craft. We had to work from home too. If my satellite crashes into the earth "because I was working from home" would not be an acceptable excuse.

My guess is they wanted to go out on their own terms, the big bad wins and rewrites history.
