I end up spending the whole video trying to decipher what they’re saying which frustrates me and makes me anxious.

It's because you're straining to understand what's being said, so you're listening to the gibberish, and trying to make out the words by concentrating When speaking in our heads, even if we aren't saying anything aloud, your voice box and larynx are still mimicking the motions needed to make those sounds as if you were You can feel this most if you try screaming in your head, as you can actually feel the back of your throat, move and contract into the way necessary for screaming quite distinctly You feel a tad out of breath because you're trying to mimick whilst you listen, and it's difficult to keep up with the audio in the first place You just end up with your throat tensed up and tired after a while, but you're still focused on the words and overdoing it We do this with all words in our heads, but we don't feel out of breath from when you have your general, day-to-day thoughts You're just subconsciously putting in a lot of effort, and trying to form the words fast whilst deciphering it at the same time It's also the reason we feel a "lump' in our rhroat when angry or upset Your mind is racing, and you're trying to form the words far too quickly, so your throat begins to tense It's literally just throat exertion, basically. Athough it's not serious and a quick rest or calm down helps immensely
