So I'm going to nerd out a bit about the whole lifespan thing you guys mentioned. The "average" life span aka "life expectancy" was relatively low. That's because of high infant mortality. If you have baby who dies before their first birthday and a man who lives to be a hundred, the average life span is 50. That doesn't mean people started dropping dead of old age at 50. If you survived your childhood, you could expect to live a long natural life. And keep in mind I said "natural" life. You could still die of disease or be killed by something/someone, further decreasing the average life span of the time.
@Haduuna_Wrur
@Haduuna_Wrur 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for saying this so I didn't have to also nerd out. Its one of those things that is absolutely correct to say, but is misleading because averages aren't actually that important in regards to spectrums.

It would have likely still bee like maybe 60 or 70 if you are lucky either way, maybe 1 or 2 decades more w/ good RNG if you are rich enough to ensure you will survive external factors as much as possible w/ sheer resources etc alone
@Haduuna_Wrur
@Haduuna_Wrur Ай бұрын
@@skebaba918 60 is still a bit low but 70-75 is definitely a fair estimate especially for folk with less resources like you said. Definitely not reaching 100 unless you're ungodly levels of lucky, but, people also aren't having grey hair and heart attacks at 30 like some folk think.

Ezio's songs in the minstrel disguise are hilarious. Some are purely referential in-universe (Vieri, Cesare etc) while others mock the games themselves (like how annoying minstrels are in II and Brotherhood).

"He craves power because he is powerless." - Altair Good catch, remembering that until the end of the episode. Altair said that in the flashbacks about Abbas, the Assassin's leader at the time. Also, Altair is in his early 80's at the time of those flashbacks. At the start of them, it said his age in the bottom-right corner. Ezio is in his 50's in Revelations.

2:39:43 going back to the american revolution and chess example, i feel like a big thing we have to remember when "breaking the rules" is that its a dangerous game to play for everyone, the american revolution could have totally gone the way of the British many, many many times! Its also dangerous for civilians on both sides. People will get hurt when you break the rules, good or bad, depending on yout perspective. In the game, we see people break the rules or go by different rules, it ends up failing for them for while we won by the skin of our teeth.
@KNINESVIDS
@KNINESVIDS 2 ай бұрын
Also... Logically, who plays by the rules the ruling party has institutionalized. Obviously its gonna be in their favour. But then with chess specifically you also have how many iterations and variations amongst cultures that have been spawned by which point you could also argue as to what are the "true" rules. One could argue all the same things with regards to the UN, modern combat etc.

you mentioned it a few times throughout this video about how people live to like they were 30. now I admit I'm not a scholar on the subject, but I'm pretty sure you're misunderstanding how lifespan averages work. Life span averages are flattened greatly by the large amount of infant mortality rates. so while the average might be around 30, the actual average of adult lifespans would be much higher. because if you survive past a certain age of childhood, then you pretty much good unless something drastic happens.

It seems great to see you two reacting to this third game in the Ezio’s Journey as this one make me tear up till the movie of Embers taking my breath away within this series of Ezio being a stubborn young man to a old, wise and outstanding character that the Creed follows in. Also having Altair life in Revelations seem to have some nice to broken moments to witness. 🥲 So I hope you two check out “Desmond’s Journey” as it focuses on his life on becoming an Assassin, then maybe check out “Lost Archives” as it focus on Subject 16. Than the movie Embers being the closing of Ezio’s Journey. But not for Desmond as his story still goes on in AC3 and Black Flag. So with all said, I can share that we seen the “Altair’s Keys” was appearing again in Mirage’s Ending where we can see Basmin discovering them at the ending. So Ubisoft seems to be nice to reused parts from past games to new one format.

Altair was in his 60’s when maria was killed, then he was in his mid 80’s when he killed abbas, later he was 92yo (i think) when he send away those keys with niccolo polo and he finally rested at the age of 96 (i think) It’s been quite a while since i last played this game The ezio journey ends with embers, then a new ac era began after it (ac3, liberation, ac4 and ac rogue) You guys probably felt less invested with secondary characters than in brotherhood or ac2 because (fun fact) revelations was a rushed project since ac3 still wasn’t able to be released that year. Kinda crazy to think that when wouldn’t even have this game that wraps up with all our three characters

This is the peak of Ezio's skill and confidence. He is effortless in his stealth, subtlety, and charm. His pace has slowed a bit with age, but his experience lends itself to a quick and pragmatic fighting style. His enemies go down, and they stay down. No drawn-out fight for him anymore. 2:35:16 This is actually what makes Suleiman a great Sultan. He's a shifty and conniving person, but this keeps him a step ahead of those who would plot against him. Tarik was right about his evaluation of Suleiman's uncle: he's a good person, but he'd make a weak Sultan. He'd look for the best in people and miss the worst. 3:02:16 According to the pop-up at the beginning of the scene, Altair is 89 at this point.

Fun fact about Duccio (Claudia’s ex-fiancé): After his last encounter with Ezio, his business starts to fail and became poor. Then in the 1520s, Duccio died from rabies (specifically a dog bite). During that point, a vaccination for rabies was not discovered yet. Because, a vaccination of rabies was discovered/administered in 1885.
@durema9720
@durema9720 Ай бұрын
Honestly a sad way to go even for Duccio. Thought to be fair if the game took place in 19 century that still wouldn't matter because when the first "vaccine" was created people from all across the world sent people to france in hopes that it's not too late for them. So if someone in the 19 centery got bit by a dog in New York and you don't have a literal colonel on dial to put you on a ship to Europe then you probably gonna die regardless.

With regards to age... I read of 1 of the persian emperors a while ago whom apparently died at the age of 71 or 72 on the battle field in a charriot so. Also last time i was at a graeyard the average life was 60-70 it seemed when looking amongst the many. I only saw 2 people reach their 90s and none reach 100. That was the modern area of my local graveyard so idk about maximum ages being too different really. We could just argue we have better minimal hygine and food intake in the west on avg for the poorer element of society.
