This scene shows how amazing Ezio is. He was a genius to be able to figure this out. And his wisdom in choosing to leave the First Civilisation artifact where it was showed that he had, in his quest to gain spiritual and philosophical knowledge from Altair's works, surpassed the great and revered Altair. He was, in my opinion, the greatest Assassin. In skill, and in wisdom.4

@bluhmer1990
@bluhmer1990 5 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. And despite how much personality he had, he also had the humility to understand that the artifacts weren't meant to show him anything, that he was simply a conduit. Altair took too long to figure that out so he spent many years of his life obsessing over the apple's secrets only to come up relatively empty.

"I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding". I don't know why but I find that line kinda depressing. Almost as if Ezio gave up his whole life for something he didn't fully understand.

It’s true, and that’s the sad part. The Precursors knew that Desmond would end up in the animus searching for them, and Ezio was the first to reach them in AC 2, where they relayed their message to Desmond through the animus. In fact, it was the first ac game I played, and I recall them actually staring at the camera to show that they were talking to Desmond. After this, Ezio was so confused at what they told him, that he spent his whole life after searching for Desmond to finally understand what his purpose was. If you ask me, Ubisoft couldn’t make a better character story if they tried, which they don’t.

sad if you played AC 2, Brotherhood, now Revelations. You see Ezio as a man with conviction, moral code, ethics and prides himself on never giving up and seeing things to the end. In this moment, you finally see him realizing this is something that is far beyond him, that he will die without knowing what that something is. He's also giving up what he has done his entire life and even though he is ready to move into peace, you still feel bad taking any moments for granted with him in past games

1:25 I have lived my life as best I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end.

the game itself wasn't too great but this scene was executed so well and how it connected Ezio's story was amazing the knowledge and wisdom he had to know that he needed to pass a message on as the fabled prophet he knew in the second vault that the information he and Leonardo were looking at were not meant for them to see and his final appearance as an assassin here just gives him that legendary status along with Altair if not a step above the Arab assassin

I hate when people compare him with Connor or Edward. They were great no doubt about that, but the connection one can feel with Ezio is unbeatable we see him right from the moment he is born and till the moment he decides to tread the Assassin's part no more. Everything came together pretty well from a rash arrogant and ignorant boy to a wise man who could make the decision even Altair couldn't that is to let go and has seen enough. He owned the title of being Mentor.

This moment made the entire game worth it for me. AC Revelations was a pretty solid experience, but it suffers at simply being a solid experience. Ezio as an older and wiser man is a nice change of pace and there are a few mechanics that they introduced that are pretty fun like bomb crafting and the hook blade, but the story was just fine for the most part. But this moment right here is why I still remember Revelations. It's an excellent sendoff to Ezio & Altiar's stories.

Not to bring up a whole different franchise, but this reminds me of Erwin from Attack on Titan (spoilers ahead). Someone who knew something bigger was going on, who knew that there was something far greater that he simply did not understand and inevitably would never understand. It just wasn’t his place, or his *time* .

I think that Ezio figured out that Desmond is one of his descendants. Because throughout the game he visits Altair's memories. His ancestor's memories.

I can still remember when he was just a boy. Just a boy, talking like this, to just another boy

Ubisoft could have doe something mind blowing asf like making ezio appear in the future as a hologram able to see Desmond and have a bRief convo with him thru the apple or they could have done it with connor or any of them but they lacked creativity this is what could've revived assassins creed not RPG aspects they should've given the game to the fans instead of cahsgrabbing it breaks my heart

What's weird is that he's actually talking to himself. Like he's in a room alone probably thinking there is some ghost type entity there with him listening, when in fact no one is listening and he is talking to the air. Only centuries later when they activate the genetic memory does his message get through, but originally he isn't speaking to anyone and his words go unheard.

This wasn't just a message to me.. this might sound wack, but think about it. I think the idea is to learn & teach. The ideas learning from my past so we won't make the same mistakes. I feel it will be better off to learn from the pieces of Eden and then destroy it or hide it.
