Just hail Monchi and Emery. Great combination and players are realising their clear vision for the future. Maatsen can play in midfield, winger, wing back, left back, provides long field passes both accurate and always forward thinking, dribbles, takes on his man, solid on the flanks and stops overlapping runners whilst breaking away at pace. What a player! Defo a step up! A mixture between digne for defending quality! An Alex moreno for the attaching side! I'm presuming one will leave. Start as we mean to go on! Defo a huge window, depending on transfers in my eyes will depend on if we're going to compete for top 4! It doesn't matter what order just that we sort it out before the accounts end this season's accounts won't come out until the 2nd half of next season has had a decent amount of games to be played. Who knows what the figures will be but with the loan wages to deal with selling Durán as it seems likely will balance this transfer out and many more.

They need to make sales, have 2 other Leftbacks (One of which they're still paying large sums for). Most importantly he has a buyout clause so they cannot reject any bid of £35m. Only he can reject it to stay. Why would he do that when he's 3rd choice‽

That wouldn't be bad. I'd hope for more but apparently We've already valued Luiz at £60m by virtue of the swap deal, so wouldn't be less than that. The cash is a much nicer option than the silly swap deal.

YAAAAAAYYYY. NICE. I assume We've told Chelsea it can only be finalised if they sign Duran. That way both sides can add the full sale amount on the books and amortise the purchase. Either that or We've already agreed a sale of another player (likely Moreno or Digne).

With Maatsen and Illing coming in and Sousa, this points to Digne and Moreno leaving. Digne 31 and high wages, and it's rumoured Moreno wants to go back to Spain...could well lose both of them so maybe next season its Maatsen and Illing Jr on the left

It doesn't cancel JD deal. We get cash for JD into the pot and Maatsen is on a 6 year contract so his fee is spread out over that period.

I knew lb would be the first position to be upgraded. Digne and recently Moreno have been well off it. They simply aren't athletes. Emery will reshape the MF. We couldn't retain possession against the best sides and even agaisnt the poor sides we were under the cosh when going a goal or 2 up. I'm also fine with Luiz leaving. He's too slow and not physical enough. Tmans mcginn duplicate his skill set. We need bigger, stronger and quicker players next season in those key areas
