I started saving seed on my farm from different crops last year…would love to have something like this to photograph the different flower structures, pollen, pollinators, and resulting seed heads and seeds. Its a different world when you start magnifying that close

Another great review! I like to see all these budget lenses. I started using an A6000 for a daily carry with at Viltrox 20 F2.8. I bought the lens after I saw your review. I wish you would include APS-C cameras in your full frame lens reviews. It would be nice to see how they work with the crop sensor cameras. Just a short two minute cliff note would be great. Thanks again for the videos. Please keep'em coming!

It is great to see the quality of the budget lenses go up, as the years go by. It makes it easier for us hobby photographers to justify spending money on a new gear ;)

Never used a Macro lens until now but always been a bit curious. They're lots of times were i just wanna get a bit closer than my lens allows me to focuss on. But 2x-5x seems veeeery close.. doesn't seem very practical for on the go use. Edit: i really enjoy the thumbnail for this video btw, it makes the lens look super unique and that peeking pov is very intrequing and fits the theme of the product too. Nice

I have the TTArtisan 40mm 1x Macro for APSC and it's a pretty fun lens. This one sounds really challenging for anyone that isn't accustomed, but as you mentioned the price makes the challenge less daunting than with a more expensive lens.

Insect photography is really fun. If you don't want to spend a fortune on a dedicated macro lens, you can use a reverse ring for a wide-angle prime.

I have a Sigma 105mm f2.8 dg dn macro Art and a laowa CF 65mm f2.8 CA-Dreamer macro. I fight with both of them to focus even with auto focus on the sigma. I tried a rail on the Laowa. Its maddening and it makes me angry. After I chill ... I try again. Im using them on my Sony A6700. the Sigma is full frame and a bit much I think is part of the problem.

I do macro photography as part of my paid work, and something that gets up to 5X magnification as an ultrawide is so interesting. Maybe I'm just secretly wishing my camera could be a microscope at a moments notice

At this point use microscope 4X Apo lens and you can have even a super sharp photos.. just add a ring light around it.

I bought one of this for Nikon Z and returned the same day I get it - I really do not recommend it at all. For Z mount it is extremely hard to screw it on the camera. Quality of the photos I get with this lens is not as great as from my Laowa 90/2.8 - not even close. Over the 3x magnification image gets some strange foggy/blured circle in the center of the frame and it is getting worse as you zoom in and/or close aperture - it covers around 1/3 of the frame, so images are unusable. Maybe it is so bad only for Nikon mount, I don't know, but I found another guy with the same issue with Nikon version too.

I’m no lens designer, so maybe this is dumb, but I feel like this should have been a 100 or 150mm lens instead. That way you’d have a bit more distance to the subject.
