Man, the explanation for Essential Dignity suddenly make's AST's old Esuna, Exalted Detriment, make WAY more sense.

Fun fact, the description of the combust debuff states that it does damage over time due to "proximity to a theoretical sun". And now I know why.

Celestial Opposition and Intersection worked better in their original ability form. Celestial Opposition used to stun all nearby enemies while increasing the duration of all positive buffs on nearby party members (kind of fitting the 'opposition' part, two opposing effects), and Celestial Intersection used to grant a shield when in Diurnal (regen) Sect, and a regen when in Nocturnal (shield) sect, so you were creating a temporary intersection between the Diurnal and Nocturnal sects to tap the power of the one you weren't on!

Exalted Detriment as AST Esuna made so much sense back in the day, and while it was kinda niche, I kinda miss the Stella-class spells which inflicted Heavy. And we had Disable too, which has been reworked into the animation of a certain astrologian's instant kill execute spell. Leeches was for Scholar (bloodletting to remove ailments?) as Esuna is a classic white magic spell in the franchise (or Green magick in some) to cure ailments. If Esuna were not a role action, I wonder what Sage might have used - Panacea perhaps?

Macrocosmos is my favorite ability in the game together with Communio and my explanation is that macro external factor (damage from an external source) effects the micro internal state (healing based on the external factor) I don’t like this explanation much because it only works one way, but in the context of Astrology makes perfect sense as we see the effects of the macro in our micro world.

Another great video as always, excited for the next! I wanted to point out something small too that, for Combust, it further links to the concept when you read the debuff tooltip, stating "Proximity of a theoretical sun is causing damage over time."

Ailuromage comes from Ailuro- meaning cats, and mage, hence Ailurophobia is the fear of cats. Interestingly, the genus for Red Pandas is Ailuridae, which suggests some cat connection. In Mandarin they are even known as XiaoXiongMao, or “lesser bear cats”.

Something to add is that Neutral Sect always existed for Astro, but the use in the original incarnation was a temporary buff to tap both powers, providing regen and shields regardless of which sect you chose for that battle (they could only swap outside of combat!). It retains the same use today, just all Astros are stuck in Diurnal Sect :3 PS: Will you be doing any analysis in the next video on the new abilities in Dawntrail? The cards have also been changed for AST so the six playable cards are slightly different now.
