Hello everyone! As some of you know, I made a collab with @PattiAgreste and this is the finished product! Hope you enjoy! 💖
Do you ever like to imagine you're somewhere else? One thing that has helped me throughout my whole life is just allowing my mind to play pretend and add a little wonder and excitement to ordinary or stressful days. Not sure if it's the best coping mechanism (that would probably be praying) but it's definitely a good one.
I love the way this song uses such vivid and comforting descriptions to paint a world where things are peaceful, safe, and far above all the problems and heartbreak weighing them down.
It also fits Miraculous so well! (Congrats to Patti for thinking of it!) I like how at first the song is kind of about them escaping all the sorrows together and taking time for each other, but then the second verse is them acknowledging the problems they face and deciding to rescue a world that may seem hopelessly broken but still worth saving. It goes on to say how you never know what the future might have in store so they won't waste time worrying about whether they're doing everything perfectly since (that's impossible and) it won't change the commitment they've already made to each other and they will still be there for each other no matter what.
Ladybug/Marinette and Adrien/Cat Noir have faced a lot of moments where it must've felt like everything was gone, but then they would go back to what always worked - a duo; them against the world. 💞
(AaHHH! How could you not love this show? 😆😍😂😏)
Anyway, back to life, do you ever want to just give up on the world? I mean it seems so dark and dreadful sometimes, especially if you spend any time watching the news or reading about current events. Not to mention all the people you interact with who seem to have no care or regard for anyone but themselves and make life miserable for everyone else.
What's the point of even trying to change anything? How can you find peace in a world that is covered in chaos?
Well, one option is to just pretend you're not there. It's easy to be overwhelmed by a stressful situation, and if you have a chance to slip into your room, walk outside, or stare out a window, you can give yourself some time to breathe and let your mind escape even if you're stuck wherever you are. Reading a book or listening to music has often helped me, but if those aren't available your mind can be a very entertaining and consoling place if you give it a chance to be. I feel like there's this pressure to act "mature", tough, and disinterested in life, but there's nothing wrong with giving yourself something to smile about, find wonder in, and let a bit of your inner child shine through, regardless of your age. (To this day, my grandmother has always been one of the most imaginative persons I've ever met, and she makes a point to find the adventure in ordinary events, seeking joy in little things, and making up fantastic stories and fun along the way. Yep, she's awesome. 😉🌻💞)
Why not picture a superhero swinging between telephone poles while riding in a car, or grinning about some funny wacko scenario that will probably never happen or reliving the scenes of your favorite show or movie in your head? Why not let your mind wander into forests and castles, space and oceans, whatever captures your mind's attention. Let yourself dream about the stories you could write, the places you could go, the things you could be, and don't let the darkness of the world snuff out all the joy and light inside.
Imagination is such a powerful tool, because it allows you to see things not just as they are, but also what they could become. It takes a little practice and it's not always easy to find hope and fun when the world is so broken, but once you remind yourself of the good and wonderful things in life, you can find a reason to keep living, to keep trying, to push through the circumstances and keep fighting to make a better world for yourself and those around you.
It's okay to hide yourself away sometimes, we all need a break eventually, but instead of wallowing in darkness look to the light and see the world you want to create and give yourself a reason to chase after it.
This world is very broken, but every little bit of kindness and love makes a difference, and when it feels like everything is gone, and all you want is for the pain to stop, just know that there is hope.
Jesus loves you, and he wants to be there for you in your darkest times. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Jesus can give you peace that is greater than we can even understand, I know because I've felt it, and even though this world is broken, one day he will make a new one that is free from evil, filled with joy and light and beauty for all those who put their faith in him. Heaven and a new earth are places only he can find, but he wants to take you there. Will you let him? 💖 don't waste a second✨
