I cant wait for the trains, its gonna make automating resources over long distances so much easier!!

What astounds me is that I paid a paltry $25 AUS for this game on special on a pure whim...I thought the the little men looked cute and the rockets and the sounds ....... I just ticked over an obscene amount of hours and here they are bringing me more content....this will change a lot about the way I play the game and produce all sorts of new possibilities...thanks System ERA can't wait.....

I had no idea in my 5 years of playing this game that we would have trains. I'm gonna have to rebuy this game on pc since I havent touched my xbox in ages.

I remember seeing the first trailer before Astroneer launched. Immediately fell in love with the style and I love exploration. One of my top games of all time. Thanks for all that your team does!

Seems like this'll be a good time to get back and try the game again then. Whenever I last played, my 2 biggest difficulties were that there wasn't really any good long term transportation to get between bases and there wasn't much more narrative wise I had left outside of powering up those alien things and then spending ages to drill to the center (some of the inside biomes can look super nice though, was a little sad there wasn't too much reason to go back and visit them). I will say after powering up 2-3 planets and after getting a cool visor, I stopped playing. I was always curious about the mysteries of parts of this solar system, and it's nice to know there might be some more lore to even further flesh it out (and more stuff to do!) Good luck with all of your future work, and am ready to check this update out!

Yup, I cried at the end. You guys have no idea how much this game changed my life. How a small team could help myself, and maybe others, out of a darkness with no light in sight. This update is so cool because I've been playing the game for about 4 years and back then I was thinking about how cool it would be to have trains in the game, and now we are gonna get them! Really looking forward to it!

I remember when the game was $5 on the Xbox store. The building mechanic was completely different, there was no bytes, no large or xl power source, no automation, you go new items from researching mystery items, the storms (which I kind of miss) that would sweep through, most of the large stuff and not add. Honestly when I spent $5 I was not expecting the game to come this far but every major update has pulled me back in after months or years and I love it. I love this game so much while I do miss some items like storms which were hilarious with your friends. Specifically when your friend got his shit ran by a flying rock or how cool the storms looked off in the distance.

I only just started messing with automation this morning. Trains will make things so much easier!

Yeah, another vinyl run is highly needed. I love collecting video game vinyl's when available, just found out about the Astroneer disc.

Definitely excited for this! Long-distance resource transportation is something Astroneer was severely lacking. It’ll make automation much better, and the feeling of “colonizing” a planet will be further amplified when you have a whole rail network going around! I can totally see someone building a subway by digging a tunnel and routing a train through it.

Wow, the incredible thing of SystemEraSoftworks is how much it listens to the community and also how fast it releases the updates, keep it up and Astroneer will never get boring. I also have an idea for a future update about introducing the inclination of the rotational plane to the planets.

I bought this game as a game preview on xbox while it was in alpha. I've still barely played it, but wanted to support the devs and am glad to see it's still getting regular updates.

My favorite game in years (at least since the beta version). I own the game on all platforms (both digital and physical versions), so no issue for me when the update for Switch will be later this month. Trains and all kind of automation will be great!

I watch all their streams but I do not remember them talking about a record and now I desperately need one for one of my favorite games. When I first saw him bring out the Record holder I thought that it was a metallic poster. Also we need those snail plushies!

I want one of those Astroneer Vinyls really badly.

In a new update it would be fun to automate the crain to unload or load full resource containers or train carts. Like it would have a functiont that works like a robotic arm but for 2 slot things like resource canisters

I already have a plan: Have a starting station at my base which is connected to all of my other stations/material collecting outposts And when u start going u have the first intersection:left has the outpost 1,2,etc And right has outpost 5,6,etc After I choose right for example I come to another stop: Left has outpost 5,6,7,8 Right has outpost 9,10 After I choose right I have the final stop:left outpost 9 Right outpost 10 And have this kind of WEB OF RAILS connected to all of the stations At least this is my plan :)

I'm so using this for core tunneling, assuming it's not crazy expensive. I can easily see making a U-line heading down where I can fill a cart with resources, send it on it's way for a dump off, then have it return to me for more. The ride would be cool, too... assuming it's man-able.
